Incubation Period Question

I have an initial herpes outbreak and took a blood test that came back positive. Does this mean I could have contracted HSV-2 a while back and am having my first initial outbreak or must it be my new partner that gave me the disease? I have no been with anyone else in months but he recently took a blood test and came back negative.

3 days is really to soon post exposure. It is considered in the window period you would almost have to count the hours involved. Average is the first week.  The issue here is the blood test being positive. As should not show a positive number until the 8th week post exposure. How long after did you take the blood test?

I haven't gotten the complete results back just a note that they called the lab and it is positive. I will post them once I have them confirmed but even if the incubation period for it is 2-14 days? The breakout started 3 days after initial intercourse with my new partner.

Since his blood tested negative and these tests are 90% accurate we can comfortably assume youve had it a while. But please confim the test you took and any numbers involved to rule out a false positive.
