Indeterminate HSV2 Results

I first tested positive for HSV2 on July 7 with an IgG of 2.88.  I retested with Western Blot on August 9 with an indeterminate result.  I've never had any recognizable outbreaks that I know of and my current boyfriend of 1.5 years (unprotected sex) is negative.  I tested positive for HSV 1 with an IgG of 4.89.

When I called UW to discuss the indeterminate results, one person told me I was seroconverting and probably had it and a different person told me that I may have some other antibody in my system that the test is picking up.  I guess I should retest in December just to be safe.

Is there any hope that I'm actually false positive?!  What happens if my results are indeterminate again?

I have an update!!

I tested once again with the Western Blot via Terry Warren/Westover Heights Clinic and Terry called with the good news that I am NEGATIVE for HSV 2!

if your bf is testing negative, you aren't seroconverting unless either you or he has had another partner recently.

the indeterminate can go both ways with the WB. wait at least 2 months and then repeat the WB. Make sure they add the comment of compare to prior WB so that they do so. that's usually how they do it when you are in this situation.

best of luck!
