Initial infection

With the initial infection, is it possible to have other symptoms without blisters? For example, about 5-6 days after I had unprotected sex in September I had a slight fever for about a day, the chills and sweats one night and swollen lymph nodes in the neck. Also had a decreased appetite and malaise. But no painful blisters or sores on my penis. The girl I slept with has since (3 weeks ago) tested neg for herpes by blood test, as well as all other stds (I was tested for chlamydia and gonnarea). To me, it just seems like I caught something from this still. Why else would i have swollen lymph nodes and a fever after sleeping with a new partner? Other symptoms I've had are an ingrown hair (clearly a hair in the middle) that comes up just around the area where the groin meets the thigh. Showed 3 doctors and all said folliculitis, but it scabs over and scars which worries me. They wouldn't even swab cause they said they were 150 percent sure it wasn't herpes. Also I have had urinary retention (have to push to pee and doesn't feel like I'm emptying my bladder), some anal inflammation (no pain) and diarrhea. I also saw that about 80% of people with herpes never know it cause they don't have the typical sores, which scares me.

Also some nerve pain in the legs (tingling, sun burn feeling).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
