Initial outbreak getting worse

Initial outbreak getting worse

I just became aware that I have genital herpes this past Sunday. The sores multiplied rapidly to about 20 in total. I had an alternative treatment (Dynamiclear) overnighted and received it yesterday, applied it to all visible sores. Those that received the application have visible scabbing today, but now there seem to be a whole new crop of sores and blisters (around the same number as the initial outbreak) and more swelling of the vulva.

I've heard that the initial outbreak lasts the longest, particularly if the antibodies have not yet been produced. Does anyone have any advice? Input from their own initial outbreak?

I would've never wasted your money on dynamiclear - especially not for an initial ob.

Were you prescribed any oral herpes antivirals? Though it's thursday already so their effectiveness will be lessened because you didn't start them early on but if you are still getting new lesions it's worthwhile to take them.  I'd stop using the dynamiclear just in case this is actually an allergic reaction to the product.

Also if you find that by monday things still are getting worse instead of better - I'd return to your provider to get checked for yeast and bacterial infections. Both are very common - especially with the initial ob.

When you were diagnosed - did they do any testing to see if you have hsv1 or hsv2?

Hang in there - I know it hurts. It will get better though!
