Is it Herpes?

Hi everyone.  Ok so I know I'm kind of a paranoid freak, but ever since I got diagnoes with HPV (which yes I know is incredibly common) a year ago, I am paranoid about everything.  I always practice safe sex, but a guy I was having sex with the last year has HSV-1 and gets cold sores ALL the time.  I don't let him perform oral on me, but he very regularly fingers me.  I know sometimes he will touch his sore absent mindedly and then touch me.  So last month I noticed I had a very small cut like sore at the opening of my vagina.  I noticed it because it hurt when I pee a bit.  I went to the STD clinic, and was tested for everything (except Herpes, because they don't do herpes tests).  Everything came back negative, and the doctor said that it didn't look like Herpes, it just looked like a scratched myself.  It went away in three days.  So I was at ease... at least until this month.  This month right before my period I got the same type of sore.  Now I do have some vibrators and such, and my mother mentioned they could be scratching me.  But both times I got the sores, they were around the same spot, and both looked the same (like a scratch).  Both times I got it, it was a few days before my period, and lasted about 3-4 days.  I guess I just want to know how likely it is that I got herpes from him fingering me, and does this sound like Herpes to any of you?  I went to the doctor again, this time I paid for the doctor to look.  She told me it didn't look like Herpes, and she wasn't worried about it at all, and didn't want to do a test.  Now I know that a lot of people have herpes and don't even know it.  And its extremely common.  I would rather not know if I didn't get sores to be honest.  I feel dirty and ashamed.  I"ve 28 years old, and only been with 5 guys.  But now I'm dating someone new, and I'm extremely scared that I might have Herpes.  I wouldn't be so paranoid if I didn't get the same 'scratch' twice.  Could it be from my toy? I heard it could be a blocked gland? I don't know.. please help.  I appreciate any comments you may have.  Thanks.

Thanks for the comment.  I guess I am just worried because of the HPV mainly.  And all the research I've done online say that something like that COULD be Herpes.  I know I should just go with what the doctors say, they both said it doesn't really look like Herpes, and they aren't worried.  I just don't know what the chances of transmission from lip-hand-genital is, and also if that sounds like something Herpes could be.  The doctor said the initial outbreaks are always the worst, and mine was very small.  Can I rest at ease?  I'm so scared, because of this guy I"m dating, I really like, and I know he will freak if I told him I had herpes.  I'm really scared.  Anyone else have any comments or thougts?

It doesn't sound like Herpes to me.  Herpes are a cluster of small blisters- they pop and form painful ulcers - Sometimes taking 2-4 weeks to heal.  Your first outbreak of herpes would be the worst - then, without medication, you would more than likely get outbreaks every 4-6 weeks -- Over time the outbreaks would get less and less severe- less duration, faster healing time -- I know a girl who caught genital herpes (HSV-1) after receiving oral sex from her boyfriend who had a small coldsore on his lip -- Her initial outbreak happenend 2 days later and was so severe her temperature reached 104 and she required hospitilization.  If it was Herpes you would know it -- If it's anything it all I would say it is related to existing HPV and nothing to do with Herpes ---
