never went away which told me its not herpes because its been there for 8 months and hasnt changed. what has me concerned is that two weeks ago i developed what looked like a huge pimple on the base of my penis
shaft. it has gotten a lot smaller but is still there after 2 weeks and it hurts very bad to the point that its hard to even take my mind off of it. My question is, Are there any symptoms specific to herpes that would let me know if this is just a painful
associated with frequent pain and became concerned
May-July I saw three doctors, one of them a (extremely unhelpful) urologist, all three said it did not look like herpes, no tests were done i was told not to worry
December 18 (2 weeks ago today) i see huge pimple on my penis and since then have been unsure if it is a really painful pimple or genital herpes
Doesnt sound like its herpes to me... Because the average or actually common period between contracting and actually showing that you have is 2 to 20 days... or so I have read.. and your showed up almost 7 months ago so that a pretty long period... Sounds like nothing to worry about to me, If it hurts a lot you most likely would want to have the doctor take a deeper look and test just to be sure.. It always your choice to get tested not thiers. :)
i had the same initial reaction that its been way too long since my last sexual exposure for it to be herpes since i also read that it usually develops within 20 days, however this pain in my penis is really unbearable and that is what has me so scared. the pain isnt only limited to the 'pimple', i have also been feeling pain within my urethra.
so i went back to the clinic last week to discuss my newest symptoms and my doctor still insisted that it probably wasnt herpes. she said the sore that i was concerned about definitely looked like a pimple and not herpes. she told me i shouldnt need to do a test because it doesnt look like herpes but i had her order a test for me anyway. i still havent taken it because i cant really afford it and she seemed really confident that it is not herpes. however, it hurts really bad and the fact that i feel pain inside of my penis head still has me concerned... should i take the test?
Do you have pain in your urethra during urination, or is it a constant pain? If it's pain during urination that is a concerning symptom of an STD. On the other hand, constant pain inside the urethra/head of penis is not symptomatic of herpes, which may cause blisters/ulcers that hurt. Then again, it may be best that you get that test, or see another doctor and emphasize the fact that you are in pain. It may be best to get a swab of the pimple, if it hasn't begun to heal yet
the pain is definitely more of a constant thing, it does hurt sometimes when i urinate but not everytime. the pain has gotten much worse and now i have sever soreness in my testicles. my left testicle specifically has been throbbing for days now and the pimple is almost healed but it is still there and took the test but am awaiting results.
i am still waiting on test results but i had one question to ask anyone with herpes:
The 'pimple' i developed in december that i was afraid could be herpes has still not fully healed six weeks later... Has anyone had a herpes sore that took longer than six weeks to heal? And is it possible for this to be herpes if it hasnt fully healed after six weeks?
