Is it herpes?

Hello, I'm a 21 year old female. Last week I discovered a small lump on my labia majora, I was not too concerned, it was a pea-sized (smaller even) hard lump on the inside of the skin, there was no colour outside the lump, it did not hurt or itch, but was a bit tender to touch. I figured it must be from wearing new tight jeans I had been wearing that may have caused friction/ingrown hair or something (I did shave the area a day before this appeared).
Anyway I began wearing looser clothing and it gradually got smaller and eventually seemed almost totally gone. Unfortunately I thought it would be alright to wear tight fitting jeans yesterday and when I got home it had come back, still not painful or discoloured or anything. BUT this morning it turned a bit red on the outside and bled a bit (no puss though), but it doesn't really have a head from what I can see. Didn't hurt at all, just happened to notice it while I was checking if it had gone down again. The bleeding seemed to decrease its size a tiny amount. It's still there though.
I've been keeping it clean and applying sudocrem or germolene to "calm" it. But I've grown concerned now. What is it?

I'm worried its herpes.

I have had no other symptoms, no pain, no fever, no swollen glands, just worry. I'm careful with who I sleep with and always wear protection, but I know even that isn't enough sometimes. I went to get a check up in my local clinic during the week and was turned away two days in a row thanks to them having a filled quota (terrible healthcare system in my country).

I've had nothing like this before, and I've never had an infection or disease, I have had a few UTIs in the past, and had a short lived one just before this appeared.

Please help me diagnose this. Thank you. :)

Thanks guys :) its pretty much gone today, no pain or any blisters/ulcers appearing. Just seems to be healing as a pimple would. Relieved, but plan to get checked soon anyway. Thanks again!

It first appeared 8 days ago exactly. It started going away after 3 days, and had almost completely gone until it was irritated (tight clothing), came back, and bled a little. It seems fine at the moment, doesn't hurt. It's changed a little bit, sorta looks like this: http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/9302/dscf0659xm2.jpg only there's less redness surrounding it.

Thank you for the response :)

From the sounds of it, it's been there for awhile? This doesn't sound indicative of anything I've heard/read. I think you're fine! :)
