Is it possible for my test to be wrong??

I had a test done over a month ago and it said my Igg number was 3.2. So, I was considered positive for HSV-2. But, I am confused. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years and we never used a condom, but his test just came back a couple days ago negative. I have never cheated on him. How is mine positive and his is not?? How can I have this when I never had any symptoms or anything  for me to even think I have herpes?? I also have been reading about this and a lot of doctors were saying that the Igg number should be 3.5 or higher to be a positive result. Could mines be negative as well?? I also read that a lot of people are asymptomatic, but my boyfriend would have probably contracted it by now.  I think I should get another test done.

your hsv2 igg is a low positive so it does need confirmed with additional testing.   A herpes WB would be your best test to confirm your status.

No, your  bf could go a lifetime without contracting hsv2 from you if you have it.
