Is it possible that I have a false positive? Or a mix up with results?

So one day I noticed a few bumps around my vagina and I still had sex with my boyfriend. Later that day the bumps actually got worse so I ended up going to the er for a check up to see what was wrong the doctor told me he sees herpes everyday and I looked like I only had an allergic reaction to something but he did some testing anyways and it came back that I tested positive for herpes. Within three days of taking the medicine he prescribed for my “allergic reaction “ all the bumps cleared up so when I got the call saying I tested positive I was very confused and when I went to get my prescription the pharmacist said there was another name associated with mine she said that it was like “Hannah smith Daniel Thomas”... when she looked my name up nothing showed for a prescription so she did my birth date and noticed the error and then I told my boyfriend to get tested because I was showing signs when we had sex and his tests came back negative so is it possible that I had a false positive? Because of the whole name thing is it possible there’s a mix up at the hospital?

Unfortunately lab screw ups are pretty rare and swab tests when positive are conclusive. Did they tell you if it was hsv1 or hsv2?
