Is this Genital Herpes

Hi, I have a blister on my right groing area and it has been there for close to 5 months.its a long line almost 1 cm in length and it has a kind of discharg.Other than that I also have some blisters around the skin of the anus.Not on the anus but just the skin beside it.Is it jock itch or can it be herpes.I have never had unprotected sex.The only thing i had was rimming about 3 years back from an escort

anything that is there for 5 months without changing isn't herpes.  see your provider and get a proper evaluation.

ok thanks....the reason i posted was i am having alopecia areata and i was told that herpes can be one of the causes....i have done HIV and VDRL which turned out non reactive.I have to small black spots on my scalp that is dry and flakky...when i scratch it flakes white particles...so was wondering if my alopecia is caused by this condition.

Chances are its not.  Continue to work with your provider on this.

as far as I know, herpes simplex is not associated with this condition at all.
