Is this an outbreak?
Hello Someone please help. I was diagnosed with HSV in March 2015. I think I got it from kissing this girl on new years. I have never had an outbreak or initial outbreak. I have however had pimples near my lips before. Tuesday night I noticed a red bump on my lips that didn’t hurt or tingle or feel sore. As of Wednesday I felt a slight tingle so I did what I always do for pimples I use rubbing alcohol on it. The bump is not even really red its been flesh colored unless I irritate it with the alcohol. Yesterday,( Thursday) morning I bought herpecin after reading reviews of how well it combats sores from forming. My bump is extremely small and I worry that my worrying is what is making me feel sensations on it. I read that at this point the yellow puss should have filled up the bumps but noting of the sort has happened. I just want to know if you think its herpes or maybe a pimple that im thinking symptoms into existence.

I only mention this because you think its a herpes sore. I mentioned your red mark dont appear as herpes.
If the test you took says any number above 1.2 is positive, then yes it would be positive and most likely you contacted it as a child from sharing drippling toys or a kiss from a relative that had a cold sore or was shedding.
Not to worry as update of 65% of the adult population would test positive for oral hsv1.

Thank you for your quick response and help. I just called for a result. They said my number was at 62.2. Does that mean anything
If you have oral hsv1, just dont kiss anyone when you have an active crusty lip sore or if you suspect your having one now, then dont kiss or give oral sex to anyone till its gone.
I didn't get the numbers exactly but I will pick them up soon. Within the next day or so. What would indicate me being highly infectious. I had an std panel done. I was negative for everything except HSV 1
Hi, how were you diagnosed with hsv1? Tell us any numbers involved. And just to be clear, when a person has a herpes lip outbreak, it is always most often a clear lip blisters that scabs over and looks crusty. Im sure youve seen a person with one. They are very obvious. The red mark your describing does not appear herpes related at all.
