Is this genital herpes?

About a week and a half ago i had unprotected sex, which i obviously regret now.
Four or 5 days after that i noticed a very slight pain on my butt when i sat down so i thought it was a pimple. After a closer inspection i realized i had about 4-5 small red bumps on my left butt cheek, spaced about 1/2 to 1 inch apart, on the open skin. One of the bumps was a little bigger than the other ones and seemed to have a very small amount of liquid in it. The other ones were really small.
Later on at night the bumps itched slightly for maybe an hour or less.
The next day the bumps were already starting to dry out and 2-3 days later they were almost completely faded.
After the bumps had faded i quickly developed flu symptoms: yesterday around lunch i started feeling feverish and my throat hurt, and today when i woke up i was feeling sick enough that i didn't go to school and slept for half the day. By now, its 8.00 at night and i'm already feeling a lot better.

At first i was in denial but after doing a lot of research it makes sense to me that i contracted herpes from this girl. I'm an 18 year old male and have been getting cold sores on my face for about a year so that explains why the "outbreak" was so mild. I've read that some people develop flu symptoms before or doing an outbreak but i'm not sure why i got sick after the "outbreak" or if its coincidental.

I'm going to get tested in a few months but i wanted someone's opinion in the meantime
Does this sound like herpes to you?

I cannot help you sort this out online, but I would strongly suggest that you see a health care provider to sort this out because the earlier in the symptoms you go see someone, the clearer the answers will be.

If you did indeed contract herpes, which again, is very low risk, yes, you could transmit it to a partner.

My boyfriend performed oral sex on me about 5 days ago. He only kissed my vagina one time but kissed my butt and the area around it a lot. He does have hsv-1 orally. At the time he did not have a cold sore or any symptoms of cold sores. he hasn't had one in a very long time. The day after him performing oral sex on me my vagina started burning and it has not stopped for 5 days. The pain is getting to me and I am scared I have herpes now. I have no bumps or blisters or anything of that sort. My vagina does not look any different at all. It just burns. It even burns in places he did not kiss. Does anyone know what this could be? Please help I am in pain and scared. Thanks

The chances of getting genital herpes at one sexual encounter is very low, but not zero.  And if you have herpes, you will certainly be able to father children.

Joey, you can't get piece of mind at this point from asking people about this or doing tests too early.  The only way you can be certain you don't have an STD to to wait the appropriate amount of times and then get tested.  For gonorrhea and chlamydia, that's a couple of week, for HIV, a few months, for hepatitis B and C and A, three months and for herpes four months.  You're looking for a quicker answer, and there just isn't one.  Having unprotected sex once is certainly not high risk but if you really want to know the exact answer, you have to wait.
I fear this will be the last post on this thread.

I'm sorry, but I don't know if you have genital herpes.  You might have folliculitis, hard to say!

Hello I had unprotected oral sex performed on me 6 months ago. The girl had a scabbed over cold sore but the oral sex was literally for 2 seconds. I also made out and have no history of cold sores nor have I ever got one. I still have never gotten a cold sore but I do have 10-15 red bumps on my thigh with hair coming from them. I do run a lot and am sorry to say could not shower for a week after I ran a mile each day and my boxers would ride up. The bumps all have hair growing from them and do not itch or burn or anything like that. I am thinking its folliculitis could I be correct?

HPV is the wart virus.  That's what we are talking about.

I'm afraid this needs to be the end of this thread.

Well u say the wart virus clears over time. well this is first time that i think i am getting a genital wart i don't think i have ever had one. After 6 yrs i am getting one. Now the wart virus may clear over time but wat abt the HPV virus what about that? Does that go away over time?

Most everyone (male and female) do clear the wart virus over time, thinking it is incurable is an older concept that we now know is probably not accurate.
