Is this genital herpes??

About 8 months ago I was sexually active with a girl, we did not use a condom.
Since then, I have not been sexually active, or used a condom when I was.

Today I shaved my pubic region, and the next day I had a outbreak of what looked like acne on the area that I shaved.
Now, I have very sensitive/irish skin thats easily irritated, and I used a pretty bad razor. I'm hoping its just acne or irritated skin.

Is it possible that herpes stayed in my system with no signs or symptoms for 8 months? And just breaking out when I shaved??

Since the irritation came right after shaving, they are most connected.

The first outbreak of herpes is USUALLY the most severe outbreak with traditional lesions and flu like symptoms/swelling of the lymph nodes.

I would say it does not sound like herpes which would blister quickly, then break and ooze/ulcerate, and then crust over (amber color).

If you are describing acne then it is most likely not herpes.

Could this be herpes? yes it could be but odds are it isn't. sounds more like a folliculitis. see your provider for a proper evaluation.  

toss that razor too!!

also since herpes is on your mind, why not get a full std screening, including herpes so you know your status and don't have to wonder like you are now?  condoms only reduce the transmission of herpes by 30%. you still need routine herpes screening in between partners.
