Is this herpes or something else?

my summary- had protected anal & unprotected oral sex with an older guy (one night stand) who I didn't know sexual history of over 12 months ago, we met on the internet, I know it was risky, I thought if you work a condom you were safe from catching anything. 2 or 3 days after meeting I did feel quite under the weather for 3 or 4 days. I had one yellow spot appear on my scrotum too, which I thought nothing off, I popped it like a zit and it gradually went away.

Ever since then I've had a few sores come and go (average once every 2 months) on my scrotum - they never blister or scab but do feel quite sore and aren't like a usual spot, I'd never had anything going on down below either before this encounter. Whenever I get this I also always get scabs on my the lymph nodes around my ears, I can feel my lymph nodes swell, the skin breaks and they are quite vicious looking scabs here, much worse than anything down below. I've had two IGG blood tests and tested negative for hsv2 twice, positive for hsv1 (but I've had cold sores for 20 years+) so expected this. I've also had two negative swabs on the sores.

I've been tested for everything else at 12 weeks and then again 9 months later (HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis). What else could this be other than herpes? Docs said fungal infection but I've tried everything (steroid cream, fungal cream, penicillin) but they keep coming back even when my skin is completely clear. I thought if you had HSV1 orally you couldn't catch it again genitally, and a negative HSV2 test is pretty conclusive right?

The sores on my ears/neck are 100% interlinked with whatever happens down below, I never get one without the other. From what I can see on the internet this is never a symptom of herpes, but then I can't find it to be a symptom of much else either! Can anyone help me find out what this is?

No hep doesn't cause skin issues.

I think you need to continue to focus on a bacterial or fungal cause. These can take a few weeks to fully clear up.

Hey, I've recently had another outbreak and sent it to firstderm online. I sent a pic and they said that the most likely cause is G-HSV1, which I thought was almost impossible if I already have O-HSV1, which i definitely have had for years. I had a test for Hepatitis, and came back negative, so I can rule that out too. I'm at my wits end, quite depressed, I'd rather just know what the hell is causing this by medical diagnosis as they uncertainty is torturing me and I can't move on one way or the other. What else can I do?

I just want medical diagnosis, this isn't in my head, I have fairly regular recurrent breaks in skin which tie in with a risky sexual encounter. My skin where it breaks never seems to quite fully recover, it always feels a little rough, and when I pinch the skin and rub it between my fingers it feels thicker and almost like there is something on the skin. Is there anything I can do like a swab for fungal or bacterial infection or another herpes type test I can get in the UK to rule it out? The firstderm said get a PCR herpes test swab but I've never even heard of that in the UK?
this is the image I sent https://s10.postimg.org/fymhdkb6h/IMG_4114.jpg
Why don't you get the lesions swabbed? Sending pics all over the net isn't a good way to figure out what's going on. Even experts will miss diagnosed hsv by sight alone

No, not just on the scrotum. Almost always in association with lesions elsewhere such as the penis. Many of those photos on the net are actually not of herpes but posted by fake sites pedalling cures or herb based treatments.

Followed it up with doc, he said probably folliculitis, prescribed me some dermol shower emollient - went to doctors and its something you can just buy over the counter so cheaper than the prescription!

Had no idea what the scabs on ears at same time could be, didn't see that concerned, but to me it is because it's like clockwork. Tried this cream for 3 days now and if anything seems to make it worse down below.

Does anyone have any ideas?? The only thing I've not been tested for I think is hepatitis, but from what I've read protected sex isn't that risky and I don't seem to have any of the symptoms you'd associate with that?

The only thing I can be sure about is that this is not herpes, which does not tend to appear on the scrotum. Difficult to tell what it might be so you will need to follow up with your doctor.

Herpes does appear on the scrotum though quite frequently? Plenty of pics on google to show this!
