It it Herpes and How Bad Can the Long Term Effects Be

I have had occasional canre sores in my mouth over the years.  I was sexually active.   The sores were never on my lips usually single not blister like and inside my mouth.  I had that nerve tingling sensation on my skin for about 2 weeks. It started on the insides o my leg moved up my hip across my chest and around to my back on the other side. It moved very slowly and  in one direction  I had itching in my arm pits and redness that was reduced with fungal creams.  I did have a rash outbreak on the back of my legs but no ouzinng or blisters, it did not look like herpes .  My doctore looked a it.   I have a lot of itching in my lower legs.   I  have had  Psoriasis for years and it is starting on my lower legs too now. very mild.  I am concerned about what actions I should take if any to see if this was viral and should I do anything if outbreaks are not really bad yet.  Will it go dormant.  will it get worse  Am I ok.  I excercise, sleep well and take vitamins.  

How should they check for Herpes I dont think I have it but I think something is up.   I also have a lot of anal itching and creepy crawling sensations there.  No real rashes other than the psoriasis redness and flakes. my doctor diagnosed the psoriasis.

None of your symptoms really sound like herpes to me.  The sores in the mouth are canker sores, not cold sores.  Cold sores appear on the outside of the lip, nose, or chin.  Herpes doesn't move throughout the body as your describe, moving from legs to chest to armpits.  Your providers could check for herpes infection with an IgG type specific antibody test about 3-4 months from any risky sexual exposure.  I would rely on your doctor's impression - did you doctor say it looked like herpes?
