Itchiness in pubic hair

It is very weird but I have been shaving my whole pubic area for many years but recently stopped. As my hair got longer above my penis it became itchy. The itchiness went on throughout the day so I shaved and the itch stopped. Well a couple of weeks later the hair began to grow longer again the itch started back. I did not shave and the itch would be bothersome during the day off and on. This went on for 5 days, then I shaved and the itch immediately stopped. My hair is starting to get long again and the itch is back.

Will this itch go on forever if I do not shave?? I do not remember this happening years ago when I did not used to shave as much. My last sexual encounter was unprotected oral 3.5 months ago. I was worried this could be Genital Herpes. Does it sound like this? There is also a very small rash of about 5 or 6 very small pink bumps that appear in the same exact spot after I shave each time located above my pubic hair.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone or like Herpes??????

Thanks for any help anybody can give me.

this doesn't sound at all like genital herpes.

as the hair grows back, it itches. best thing to do is to just tough it out until it gets longer.  try something as simple as powdering the genital area before getting dressed.

Also forgot to mention that went my pubic area itches, their are small red faint blotches but not really bumps and I think it is where I have scratched it. Because when I stretch out the skin, there is no sign of bumps just red from where it itches.
