Itchy and burning relief

I have had oral sex with my partner who has Genital Herpes 2 and I thought we did everything 'right' in preventing it being passed on to me.  He hasn't had it for some time.  I now have burning when going to the toilet, incredibly itchy skin and a few 'sore'.  My doctor has taken a swab and is getting tested and gave my the 3 day internal canisten cream and i'm on tablets...Famciclovir 250mg twice a day.  I've tried Vagisal....no go.  I've tried Eylocaine Jelly....no go!  The jelly didn't numb anything.  I really need something to numb down there and for something to relieve it more than 5 secs.  Anyone know of anything please?  Desparate.

Yes! There are several things you can do to relieve your symptoms:

Keep the affected area as dry as possible and wear no underwear (if possible) to let the air get at the area. The dryer that you keep the area the faster it will heal. When coming out of the shower use your hair dryer on a lower setting to dry the area so that way you do not have to rub it with a towel. Apply cornstarch by sprinkling it on to the affected area as cornstarch helps to keep the area dry.

To decrease the itching at night take Benadryl before bed time.

To make you feel better as well bath in either Aveeno or Epsom salts. Also look for Dermoplast spray (the blue can for the genital area, not the red can) or another topical anesthetic spray - ask your pharmacist.

Whatever you do, don't scratch!!

The answer to your question would be to wait. As the itching will pass if it is Herpes with the use of Famciclovir.
You can ask your doctor for some kind of corticosteroid cream, however it is not recommended to apply it during treatment, but in cases of extreme itching it could be possible.
