Jock Rash or Herpes?

On 9/29, I engaged in brief, protected, sexual intercourse with an unfamiliar partner.  It should be noted, I am in a monogamous relationship and had a lapse in judgement.  Needless to say, I have not engaged in any sexual activity since then.  About two days after the act, I began to feel a burning in the area just above the right side of my genitals, but I did not see anything else.  In the week after that, I saw two medical professionals that did not believe it was anything serious.  The second did a herpes screaning which turned up negative.  A week later, i saw the second professional who rechecked and still saw nothing, leading me to believe my syptoms (symptoms) are in my head.  My bloodwork from visit 2 showed no abnormalities in my whiteblood cell count.  However, I was told that the initial HSV test would not necessarily showany recent potential contractions.

Two weeks ago, still paranoid, I got rechecked by two more professionals that still told me it is nothing.  I was feeling relatively fine, and the burning/tingling was virtually unoticeable until about 2 or 3 days ago when it returned.  Now I do see a light pink rash that has developed in the crease in between the right side.  It burns very slightly and occasionaly itches, and I also see some little white bumps at the follicles. I should also note that I have not had ANY other symptoms (fever, headach, swollen glands, blisters, etc.) that I am aware of, that would suggest Herpes.  But I read that some people show no symptoms and it is sometimes mistaken for jock rash.  All my experience tells me it's jock rash, but my paranoia is getting the best of me.  Can you help put my mind at ease?

Also, could you please explain the truth.  If a person has an initial primary outbreak of herpes, I would assume, from what I have read that there would be more then a slight rash, and there would be more signs like what I mentioned above.  Am I wrong to believe this, or can an initial outbreak be similar tomy experience?  Thank you.
