Jockitch/Herpes?

Jockitch/Herpes?

For the past month Ive been in and out of doctor's offices about a rash Ive had on my scrotum. Its fairly red somedays and others it may be faintly red then become more red later in the day. My doctor has prescribed about 3 different creams. Finally he prescribed 2 behind the counter creams that I was to use for 5 days and i have used them over 5 days and still no change. Recently i found a bump maybe a half inch under the head of my penis. I panicked and went to solantic to get it checked out. The doctor came in and looked at my penis and said i definitely have jock itch and i showed her the bump and she instantly said "oh this looks like herpes" and did a swab culture test for herpes. Im confused because the bump looks nothing like herpes pics ive seen. Im 18 and have had sex with only 4 different girls and only 2 have given me oral sex and with the same 2 ive had unprotected sex maybe 3-4 times. So my question is can this bump be caused by jock itch, or is it most likely herpes? And both girls to my knowledge have no STDs

fungal infections can be a booger to get rid of.  sometimes taking oral diflucan and also using topicals can work better. definitely consider a dermatologist if your regular provider can't get it cleared up for you.

odds are your herpes culture will come back negative if you had the bump awhile. good idea to follow on this with a type specific herpes igg blood test 3 months after the last time you had sex to cover your bases.  since you've been having unprotected sex, getting a full std screening is a good idea too.
