Just Diagnosed with HSV2

by ShellyB123, Mar 12, 2009 10:15PM
I was just diagnosed with HSV2.  I have never had symptoms and was tested a year ago and came up negative.  I have only had one partner in that window of time and he was tested positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2.  How could this be?  I do not recall him performing oral sex on me with a cold sore ever, as I have read that this is one way that HSV1 can be transmitted to a partner, giving them HSV2.  Please shed some light on this for me.

I was tested for Herpes with the Herpes Select blood test and he had the same blood test at an urgent care center.  Mine was positive for HSV2 and his was negative but positive for HSV1

I can best help you if you post your test results here - ie hsv1 igg 5.5 and hsv2 igg 2.2 or whatever they are. that's all the info I need posted to help you.
