thanks.. i know i cant play the blame game..what difference anyway..got it and gotta deal with it somehow
thanks
Clearing out brush could certainly be the cause of your wrist itching.
I doubt that someone would get a really bad first RECOGNIZED outbreak six months after infection, but if there is some suppression of the immune system that is significant (say chemotherapy or a big burst of steroids), that could happen, yes. I think you are correct - if you are HSV 2 positive by type specific antibody test but have no recognized symptoms, you are likely in the 80-90% of those infected who don't know it. These people normally find out they have herpes either by infecting someone else or getting routine testing, yes.

hi thanks for getting back to me...was wondering what happened
couple quick questions then i will end this thread as i know u r busy
they say the initial outbreak is the worste and usually by 3 weeks. if you dont get the initial outbreak by then can u still get one say 6 months later that is as painful?
Also if it has been 6 months and there are no "signs" does this usually mean u may get outbreaks that still get unnoticed?
guess i am lookin for stats ...if u didnt get an initial oh my got it hurts outbreak within 3 weeks are these the people who usually are in the 80 to 90 percent of people who dont even know they have it?? this is so confusing...
do the people in the high percent rate usually find out they have it without blood tests?
Hey sorry to hear about that but atleats you know now....Dont be stressed look how many people have this virus...hopfuly they find a cure.
no never had anything like that...like i said had an outbreak of hives and also was in the woods at moms clearing out brush so hopefully poison ivy or reation to weed spray i was using. So you are saying it is unlikely to be on my wrist i hope
Whoops, so sorry, I somehow missed your post!
The things are your wrists don't sound like herpes, but they could be scabies or some other infection. Or they could be a reaction to something as simple as a watch band or allergen that you came into contact with during the day. Do you have anything like eczema? Have you had allergies or sensitivities in the past?
If you contracted herpes 8 weeks prior, the test could still have been as high as >5.0 from that infection, yes. At eight weeks post exposure, there is no way to tell if you have been infected for 8 years or 8 weeks.
The wrist thing is worrisome, have you considered seeing a provider to help sort that out?
Waiting patiently to here from you. Hope u are well
Forgot to mention the area on my wrist just itched and didnt ooze...no crater scabs ..just from itching and sctratching. I hope this is not an outbreak on my wrist and am hoping it was just hives from all the stress for a totally different situation.
One additianl question please
I know I could of had HSV 2 for a long time. My question is if it was from an encounter 8 weeks ago would my test likely to be >5.00 like it read or would it be a bit lower in such a short time?
Thanks
