Likelihood of contracting genital herpes

About two years ago, I recieved unprotected oral sex from my boyfriend one time.  He had never had any sexual encounters beyond kissing with anyone before me and I had not either.  I don't remember noticing any sores afterward, but many months later, I discovered one little pimple-like sore near one of the lips of my vagina. It only hurt a little bit and then went away after a few days. I barely even noticed that I had it and I have not had it since.  It never oozed anything and it didn't pop.  I don't know if he gets cold sores or not, but he says he has not.  I have never given oral and I haven't recieved oral at all since the one time and I have no other symptoms of oral herpes. Is it possible that the little sore could have been herpies, and if so, how would I get tested if the symptom is not present for a doctor to test?

Ok. Thank you! That gives me some peace of mind until I can get over and get a test taken to know for sure. =)

Sure infected hair folicule or a infection your skin is fighting.  Pimples... You will get bumps.  It's not like bumps are just because of herpes.  :-)

So it's normal to get  bumps down there every once in a while?

Chances are it wasn't herpes.  You get bumps down in that area just like everyone else.  Bumps can be anything.

At this point getting a type specific igg test will help tell you your status.  Though if positive doesn't mean that the single bump you had was herpes.  If you get a repeat of symptoms be seen within 48hrs for a proper work up and lesion culture if your doctor feels it is something to worry about.
