Depends on what jeans you are wearing ;)
Ok so perhaps it has more to do with those other genes - the kind that mom and dad pass onto you. Even though they still aren't sure what triggers ob's and exactly why some folks do have more ob's than others, they have found some genetic traits in folks. think of it as if mom used yo get obvious cold sores 2 or 3 times a year while you were growing up - chances are good that if you contract hsv1 orally - you too are going to get obvious cold sores. Lots of interesting though fairly boring research out on this recently.
In regards to your original question in this thread - have you been back to the doctor to get tested for yeast and bacterial infections to see if either of them are going on? both are very common with the first herpes ob's in us females.

What causes some people to have numerous painful outbreaks per year and others to never notice a symptom or only have one outbreak?
Having a mild case of herpes is like being diagnosed as a little bit pregnant. Like w said, you either got the virus or you do not have the virus. There is no inbetween. It doesn't take vacations and it doesn't leave your body for a break then returns. It lives in you till the day we bury you. :)
Low IgG does not mean your infection is "mild." You are either infected, or you are not. There is no such thing as a mild infection.
The weight loss could be due to eating fewer calories than you burn. That old energy balance thing.
Initial outbreak on 12/15. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
Valtrex should have cleared you up by now. Not sure if you mean December 1 or 31 which could make abig difference. If it were early in Dec and you are still getting symptoms, that would be atypical and it should have cleared up by now, especially with the Valtrex. Not sure what you have going on over there but you should go back to your Dr and find out.
