Lost!

So I asked a doctor at a clinic and I also called the place where I tested positive for hsv2 with a value number if 1.20 with no symptoms and the doctor at the clinic told me there is no such thing as a false positive test result even considering my value number and I am definitely positive . And then the number I called for the place I got tested at said the value numbers do not mean anything and a positive result  is a positive result with or without symptoms . Is this really true??

I tested just as a routine test. It was an 8 panel test and everything came back negative except hsv2. Never any symptoms or anything. I had the same partner for the past 8 months . I tried to retest yesterday and the clinic said they do not test for herpes unless I have a reason to like an outbreak . So I wasn't able to retest

Whilst it is true you can have a herpes infection with no symptoms, it is also true that usually people with longer term infections test over 3.5 on a Herpeselect test.

Why did you test, was it 12 weeks post last sexual contact?

Retest in 3 months and see where the reading lies then.

No it is not true, there are plenty of false positives.

What exactly was the test you had?
