No, they are the same thing as what I noticed before. They are close to the opening of the glans. They are tiny and not painful. There is no discharge. no blisters. However, when it erects, they seem to flaten and becomes not visible. sigh.
I have decided not to get anymore blood test until I meet a serious partner so that I can live more peacefully until then. This thing has changed my lifestyle so much. I wash my hands so often now. I avoid contacts with my family and friends. I dare not make new friends. I find myself totally unattractive to the opposite sex. Whenever I feel any itchiness at my genital, I will think that outbreak is coming. no peace at all. sigh. I fking hate it. damn.
if you have new symptoms, be seen today and have them checked out.
so HPV will stay in my body forever and can spread even when there is no obvious symptoms? just like HSV?
ok. and i will get my blood tested asap.
Btw, I think I am having another outbreak. I felt itching at the my genital and anus area 2 days and I noticed bumps on my glans yesterday. I am not sure if the small bumps that had been on my glans went away. However, even if they did, they only went away some time last week(as i check my glans every day). And, these bumps look the same as the bumps I noticed before. They are white color, tiny, not painful, not very noticeable. They are clustered together, some of them form line. They are close to the opening of my glans. I dont know if they will form blisters and burst. So far, haven't seen any blisters. I am not taking any medicine at the moment.
Could outbreaks happen that frequently? only less than a week between 2 outbreaks?
we don't have commercially available tests to test you for hpv at this point.
you and partners discussing sexual pasts, gardasil vaccination and condom use are all helpful.
but there is no way to test if i have already had it?
i am within that age group but I am afraid that I have already had it. What should i do about it to prevent transmitting to my future partners?
because most of us have already been infected with at least 1 of the 4 types of hpv it covers by that age.
no. i didn't get gardasil shots. I believe my country only started giving gardasil shots like 2 years ago. Should I get that now? possibly, I have already had hpv in me.
I found the following passage from
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/vaccines/HPV/Index.html
Gardasil is recommended for 11- and 12 year-old girls, and also females 13 through 26-year-old who were not previously vaccinated. Gardasil is also recommended for 9- through 26- year-old males to protect against some genital warts.
Why is it not recommended for people above 26?
I' ve never had herpes recurrences that were painless or itchless. every now and then here we get someone who has symptoms that come back as hsv+ but hard to narrow down if those symptoms were really due to herpes or just what caused those symptoms triggered viral shedding that was picked up on.
we can't cover the hpv bases very well at all. we don't have commercially available tests for hpv that properly cover that base thoroughly. 1 out of every 3 of us has hpv genitally at some point - it's even more common than herpes is genitally. did you get your gardasil shots at all?
follow up with your herpes testing - no need to torture yourself any longer than necessary thinking you have herpes. see if you can find a local herpes group who has someone educated like I am to know what your local testing options are for confirming low positives like you had initially. it's ok to have the pity party and withdraw for a little bit but don't let it consume you.
ok. I will do another testing when i have a partner. Right now, I dont even feel like approaching anyone else sexually.
But, have you heard or known there are herpes bumps that cause no pain, no discharge? and they are white in color, tiny, clustered together. they are so tiny(visible with naked eyes) that i dont know if they can pop.
and if i have hsv2, there is high chance that i have also hpv. What is the way to find out what strains of hpv i have if i dont have warts. I just want to find out if they are the cancer type. sigh. my life.
it's well worth confirming false positives since the rate of false positives can be as high as 50%. knowing what you have for sure is helpful so you can take steps with a partner to reduce transmission. would be a shame if you really didn't have hsv2, got involved with a partner who did have it and ended up getting it needlessly.
well. no symptoms now so i guess, very high possibility, that it is herpes.
and i am not gonna get a second test for even i know, i won't be able to do anything about it. I will be sadder.
On the other hand, I will just assume that I have but there is a chance that it is a false positive to give me false hope. In this way, I will learn to live a healthier life and at the same time give myself false hope that one day, when i get tested again, the igg test result is still so freaking low.
I dont see a better way to face it. sigh.
correct - a fungus/yeast causes jock itch. not unusual for an antifungal pill to not fully take care of the problem. continue to follow up on your symptoms with your provider.
repeat the first testing you had done since I can't really recommend any confirmatory testing where you live. another option is seek out a herpes support group in your area and ask them for suggestions for confirmatory testing.
ok. I will request for urine test for Gonorrhea then.
I dont think I have symptoms for jock itch(which is due to fungus, right?) I took anti fungal tablet prescribed by the same doctor.
My itchiness happens around genital, and around anal area but not on thigh. So, I dont think it is jock itch. I do hope it is jock itch instead of herpes.
So the best way for my case to see if i really get herpes type 2 is to do another IGG test with index <0.9 is negative ?
no that test only tests for syphilis.
usually itching is due to jock itch.
the acyclovir doesn't help to heal the skin faster. It stops the herpes from being active as long as it would've been without antivirals and then you wait for the body to complete the healing process. Just like if you get a paper cut on your finger, it has to take its time to heal - same thing.
Well, I went to the doctor, he told me VDRL test that he did for me tested for gonorrhea.as well. Is that true?
Although my symptoms don't sound like herpes, I do experience itchiness at genital area. The white tiny bumps around the opening of the gland are not painful and do not discharge, as far as I can tell. They have been there for about a month, ever since I noticed them. I am not sure if they existed before.
But, doesnt taking acyclovir tablets make the outbreak goes away faster? so shouldn't the bumps, if herpes related, go away when I take acyclovir tablets? This is a little confusing.
herpes lesions won't heal while you are on the acyclovir. acyclovir only disrupts the viral replication cycle, you have to wait for the skin to finish healing if indeed it's herpes related.
your symptoms do not sound like they are due to herpes.
I have only taken acyclovir since about 5 days ago, 5 tablets a day or every 5 hours or so. Two more days left, so I guess I will finish them and go to take the first test again in a week.
Will that give me better result(Question 1)?
And, if there is any herpes bumps or symptoms on the gland of my penis, they should go away within a week when I take acyclovir with APO 800 every 5 hours or so.
If there are still some bumps on the gland before and after 5 days of taking the tablets, (Question 2)what could them be? (Question 3)What should I be tested for?
Fyi, they are like tiny white bumps, grouped in 1 to 5, less than 1mm each, right besides the opening of the gland. They are not painful when touched. no discharging.
They have been there for quite a while, I believe. I showed them to my doctor but he did not find anything on the glands. They are more noticeable when there is erection. From what I read, they dont seem like herpes bumps so I did not classify them as symptoms.
So far, tested negative for HIV, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Hepatitis. Positive for Herpes 1 and 2(low positive for 2, I guess).
so sorry for this long message. Thank you!!
the urine tests for gonorrhea are just fine to have done.
ok. I will go test for herpes using the first test and gonorrhea.
What is the standard, trustable test for gonorrhea if there is not any noticeable symptoms?
thank you!
no they are not the same tests at all.
gonorrhea isn't transmitted through protected sex.
I did the 2nd test via another doctor. Aren't they the same IGG test that differentiate type 1 and type 2? How different are these 2 tests? What are their names?
The best way is still to go for the same test center and do the same test?
If the positive comes back high, that means I get it?
So far, I had protected sex, even for oral sex but with a person that I dont know her sexual status in May last year. Is there chance to contract gonorrhea with protected oral and vaginal sex?
the 2nd test you had done is one we don't recommend. it seems to return with a very high false positive rate. repeat your herpes testing with the same test you had the first time if you can.
I'd stop all acyclovir too.
yes indeed you should be tested for gonorrhea if you haven't been since your last unprotected encounter.
we don't have commercially available tests for hpv that properly cover the bases for you.
