My GYN performed a blood test for STDs. I do show a positive result for hvs 1. However, the test showed a low negative for hvs 2 (test was done November 2008). I took another blood test February 2009 and the result was low negative but it was slightly higher than the November 2008 test result. I took another test February 2010 and the hvs 2 test came back negative too but slightly higher than November 2009. I'm a bit perplexed about my results. I have been dealing with a huge amount of stress also. What test should I take to have a more accurate result? I'm stressing out. Any suggestion / guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for responding to my question. I really appreciate your time and effort to help me with this. I'm freaking out.
My GYN said that I have hsv 2 because of the blood work. Frst time the result revealed a false positive (-4.02 or something like that) and she wanted me to retest again. And it seems that every time I retest the results gets higher. I do have a regular partner.
He does have hsv 1 and one time he tried to performed oral sex
on me when his cold sore was healing but I told him to stop. could that cause me to get the hsv 2?
What should I ask my GYN when I see her again? Everything that I've read so far on the community points to me not having hvs 2. So confused and totally devestated of not knowing. Should I do the WB or the Biokit to confirm? Or should I not even worry about it?
hsv1 stays hsv1. it can not turn into hsv2. 2 totally separate viruses.
can you get the results of your last hsv2 igg test to post here for me to look at? all I need posted are the actual results - ie hsv1 igg 5.5 and hsv2 igg .34 or whatever they are. Just wanting to make sure there's no confusion
