Low positive HSV2 results, in combination with HSV1

Recently had a herpes blood test done and tested positive for both HSV1 (7.0)and HSV2 (2.0).  I have had cold sores in the past so knew I would test positive for HSV1.  However, I have never had unprotected sex in my life and was surprised by my HSV2 results.  Is it possible that this is a false positive?  Could my HSV1 results be skewing the HSV2 numbers?  Please help!

condoms only reduce the risk of hsv2 transmission by 30% so getting tested for hsv2 periodically is a good idea.

your hsv2 igg is a low positive and needs further confirmatory testing done to see if it's a true positive or not.   http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/Confusing-Igg-Test-Results/show/771141  is a terrific prior post by HHH on this for more reading.

I just wanted to follow up by saying that I just got an immunoblot test and was found NEGATIVE for HSV 2.  More proof for those who have HSV 1 that a low positive is worth a retest.  I am so relieved.
