or anything in my life. Just cause Id rather wait till i get married and such, however, this night I freakin caved. Anyway, On December 5, 2009 I was with a friend and his girl friend and a friend of my friends girlfriend. So there were four of us. We all were haveing a good time and we decided to drink and it got out of hand
. My buddy started to make out with his girlfriend, then all of sudden me and my friends girlfriend friend started to make out. Anyway, we kissed\ french kissed for at least two hours. She rubbed mine penis
and I rubbed her vagina, however, i am pretty sure we didn't touch our own and then touch each others. But anyway week and half later woke up with this weird thing on my chest, a couple inches below my nipple on the left side of my chest. They were small red rash ( clear bumps filled with puss). Went to the doctor and the doctor said I had shingles. She said i could be stressed, and actually I do stress a lot. Work for me is stressful. However, I kinda remember the doctor saying i may of picked up herpes simplex. I have been reading that there are a few different herpes simplex. THERES HSV-1 (oral) and HSV-2 (genital), and herpes gladitorium (wrestlers herpes). I have read most people have HSV-1. If i did get it which I dont want it but if i did id rather it be oral then anyting else. Does anyone have any input? should i just go get and std test? One more thing, And then a couple weeks later I got a soar throat
, with mucus, and a small cough here and there, I believe its chronic bronhitus. Whats going on with me? can any one help me out?? Could I have an std? Thanks so much guys and hope to hear from you soon.
If you feel you may have herpes you can get a type specific IgG blood test. This will determine if you have gotten HSV-1/HSV-2 from this encounter.
However, typically herpes doesn't spread into these areas. As far as it being shingles I can't argue with a doctor (them doing medical school and all). HSV-1 and HSV-2 can infect either area. Typically that is where they reside. HSV-1 is more oral and HSV-2 is more genitals. However, blood test won't show you where your infection is at only a culture can tell you when you have active symtpoms.
It is that time of the year to get sick as well. So you may just have a cold. See your provider for further workup on problems.
What you describe is NOT a risk for any STD. Kissing can in fact transmit oral herpes from mouth to mouth, but again it's not considered an STD. Otherwise what you're describing elsewhere on your body is not herpes related. You only kissed.
How did your doctor test you for shingles?
Know that oral herpes is incredibly common; over 50% of the adult population has it. Even Auntie could have transmitted it to you or me when we were kids from that big smooch hello.
You can read more about oral herpes here, and consider testing if you want to know your own oral herpes status.
Thanks guys for the replies. Sorry took me so long to reply, but been trying to tell myself not worry because it was just kissing.. Honestly though.. I am so irritated at myself for being stupid.
About the doctor.. She looked at the little bumps that has clear liquid in them and mentioned to me she believed it was shingles, or i believe I remember her mentioning something about oral herpes and that some 50-60 % of people have it like you said above.
I just hope its nothing worse then oral herpes, cause I have this stupid mucus build up in my throat, and i get a small sore throat here and there..
I think the best thing to do is just go get tested to have peace of mind.. ya know..
Thanks for the replies though guys.. I really appreciate it.
