I disagree that the results are any confirmation of HSV2. They must be confirmed by Westernblot.
You've had plenty of time to get the Westernblot if you were at all concerned about this issue. What were the results?
You're not making sense. A hand job will not cause genital herpes no matter how much you try and twist it.
Your past sexual history will help provide a potential answer to your question. What part of this are you not getting?
Are you asking how you got HSV2. Well from what you're stating and in conjunction with your test results, you contracted the virus BEFORE your girlfriend from a past exposure. Do you understand this?
At this point, why does it even matter. Adjust your life accordingly as your results have clearly stated you're positive for the virus. Going to town and asking everyone you ever had a sexual encounter with isn't going to change your results.
Myth 2: We didn’t have sex, so there’s no way I have genital herpes.
Herpes is spread by skin-to-skin contact with someone who carries the virus. That means you can get herpes by "TOUCHING", kissing, and oral, vaginal, or anal sex. People who carry herpes don't always know they have the virus, and they may not have any visible sores on their skin.
That said, your risk of getting the virus is higher if you've had contact with a partner who does have a visible sore. Using condoms can majorly decrease the risk of spreading the virus, but doesn’t eliminate it completely....I got that off...BEDSIDE.ORG
The answer is very simple: you contracted HSV-2 from a prior sexual encounter. Were you a virgin before having intercourse with your current girlfriend? Do you have a history of prior sexual exposures?
If the answer is yes, that would explain your test results and numerical value. It's clear your current girlfriend did not give you this virus. Please evaluate your past and there's your answer.
What about if the person that was massaging me touched herself then touched me. Could I have gotten it that way? Anything is possible...right? I mean...has it ever been proven that you can't get it that way? Or is everyone just saying you can't get it that way because there hasn't been any reported cases of transmitting the virus this way. I don't think you wasted your time Tim. But thanks for your input. I'm just trying to figure out how I got this. I've been, vaginal, oral and anal faitful since 11/30/2010...but not handjob faithful...lol. Never had any-outbreaks up until that last handjob. I'm telling you...that's where it came from. maybe I'm just one of those cases where it happened via handjob.
It looks like I wasted my time on your post.... you've already gotten all of the answers you're going to get on this. I just read a thread that Grace and Catinbarefeet AND FLEETWOOD responded to.
Get tested and come back with the results before posting again. As you should know, an IgG or Western Blot would be conclusive by now for you.
Lastly, if you DO have HSV2 (likely), it wasn't from the massages. Have your partner tested again if your next test is positive.
What incident are you referring to? The day when you had two separate massages?
I think you probably are positive for HSV2 just based on your description of the blisters. But the timing is completely wrong for you to have antibodies in your system from those encounters. No way you went from negative-to-positive in 5 days. Doesn't happen. Regardless of how high-risk an exposure is. The friction caused by the acts you mention may have triggered an outbreak; but there is not way you contracted the virus originally in this way.
And you didn't catch it from the previous other massage either. Like everyone else is telling you, you can't catch HSV2 like that unless possibly you were touching her and then touching yourself (which again isn't an especially likely way to transfer the virus).
Nothing else happened. It was all handjobs. no oral, anal or vaginal...JUST HAND...we didn't even kiss for petesake.
Well having 2 low positives for hsv2 would mean your positive and would seem to be a new infection but thats not 100% sure, but you cant get it from a handjob. Something else happened that your not aware of.
in your opinion is a swap of a lesion more effective than a western blot?
gotta a couple of spelling typos in there,,,but im sure you can figure out what im trying to say.
on the 5th day after the incident I had a hsv type 2 igg type spec and the index was 1.87. I also had a igm hsv I/II Combination and the index was 2.15. Then 13 days later i tested again. The test was a hsv 2 igg type spec...and that index was 2.38. Then I had an hsv type 1 spec...and that index was 1.16. No swab test has been done at this time. And yes...I have had three out breaks. The first were mild but lasted a while. Maybe a month. But they didn't look like the classic herpes symptoms. And they were in my pubic hair region. The third outbreak was in the crease of my groin and upper thigh. And it was big. it stared out white and squishy...then they popped when I was showering...then the sores look like bright red craters about the size of sweet pea...with some red skin irritation around it and the burned and itched. So I kepted baby power on them to keep them dry. They never crusted over...in the healing process. Well if they did...I didn't notice...oh...And I've never had lesions on mouth, face, gu itms, etc. Sooo...like I said....my girlfriend is neg and I'm pos. I caught from the hand job didn't I? I had to of. Because I'm pos and my girl is neg. What you think Life360?
What test did you have blood or swab of a sore and if a blood what was the number value and have you ever had an outbreak and exactly where did you have it?
Handjobs do not transmit hsv and hsv2 is considered a sexually transmitted infection. Also if the person has hand herpes its only transmittable with an open finger and and also hand herpes (whitlow is hsv1 not 2)
That's what I'm going to do Fleetwood20. But I still don't understand why my girl doesn't have it and I have it, if infact I contracted it from a previous partner. I mean...I thought you could spread it by shedding Not that I want her to have it. Do you shed after a breakout? Or can you shed even if you've never had breakout? And how do you really know you can't catch it from a handjob? That is skin to skin contact isn't it? Are you giving me answers from what you have read? Or has this theory ever been proven? I'm just saying. Thanks in advance. I will be looking forward to your answer or anyone's answer.
You are still going around in circles on this. What is clear are the following:
a) you cannot get HSV2 from a handjob
b) your positive result is not proof positive of infection given the value and needs confirmation.
c) if you are positive for HSV2 you contracted it from a previous sexual partner
d) transmission rates are low per sexual act when no sores are present, hence it can take years if at all for a partner to be infected by a carrier.
Your next course of action is straightforward. Proceed to a Westernblot now, or retest 3 months after the last one to see how the value has moved.
