Meaning Of Test Results

Hello,

Exactly 2 months ago I had unprotected sex. I was tested 30 days (1 month) later with these results:

HSV 1/2 IGG,TYPE SPECIFIC
AB HERPESELECT
HSV 1 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC - AB 0.06
HSV 2 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC - AB 0.02

I was test again exactly 60 days (2 months) from unprotected sex with these results:

HSV 1/2 IGG,TYPE SPECIFIC
AB HERPESELECT
HSV 1 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC - AB <0.90
HSV 2 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC - AB <0.90

What does this mean?

Thank you.

Yes you are correct. They didn't give you the actual value you tested. Just the negative result which is all you need. You are negative.

I just consulted with the lab regarding my latest results. The lab stated that the 0.90 on each test is the actual number.

Does anyone know if, by the numbers increasing from 0.02, 0.06 to 0.90 each in one month from testing and two months from the unprotected sex, that I currently have or will have both types of herpes?

Who ever you spoke to at the lab in incorrect. You see how your first test results do not have the greater than/ less than sign. The resent results are saying less than .90 which is the way a lot of labs do it. Disregard the advice from the lab.

I think I may have misread my test results. After further review I think the test does not state what my actual number is or it is 0.00 but only states that it is less than <.90 and negative.

Am I correct?
