Medication prevention Valtrex

I had a severe outbreak of Herpes Simplex 2 about 4 weeks ago, & promptly jumped on the Valtrex.  My last outbreak prior to this was exactly 2 years ago.  I really thought I would never have one again.  I thought I was healthy & not under any particular amount of stress especially in relation to the past...when I would have outbreaks.  

Anyway, I'm still on the Valtrex taking 2 a day for about another week, then dropping down to 1.  What my query is... is it the virus or the meds making me feel so fatigued & depressed...or both.  I honestly have hardly any spark in me... I usually wake up alert & fresh, but lately I've been waking up groggy & over sleeping.  I'm also getting paranoid now of stopping the valtrex as I dont want to get another outbreak, & right now, I am under a lot of stress-heaps actually, due to my dog being really sick.  

Should I perhaps stay on the Valtrex @ 1 a day whilst I'm under so much stress...my dogs illness may not be curable either & we are currently having to monitor her.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated...thank you
