More than IBS.....

Have been battling abdominal pains since onset of H. Pylori infection in 2006. Pains are predominate in lower left quadrant and have been spreading outward from beginning of infection. Have had all the mri , ct and scopes.
Only a few polyps found. Diagnosed with IBS. Not getting into many more symtoms , had been working as a plumbing technician in all types of situations (that is with an h) when I became ill.
My question is this , can the herpes virus directly infect the digestive tract if the bug had been ingested?

your gi specialist would've noticed signs of a herpes infection in your lower bowel when they did your colonoscopy to biopsy them. I really wouldn't think this is the cause of your symptoms. Have you discussed your concerns with your gi specialist?

no reason to think that herpes is the cause of your ongoing pain.

have you ever been tested for herpes to know your status?
