Most Accurate Result

My boyfriend got bumps about a week and 1/2 ago, they occurred 2 -3 days after shaving.  Now, because he cheated on me in the past, when he asked me to look at them I immediately said it looked like Herpes.  I really got the impression they were ingrown hairs.  He did go get tested and the test came back positive for genital herpes.  What confuses me is that they really do not look like anything I have seen online.  And according to the results it stated that the IGG Antibodies for HSV I were 4.4 and the IGG Antibodies for HSV II were <0.2 and this resulted in an IGM result of 1.21.  Is it possible that this is a false positive result on HSV II because the levels of HSV I were so high?  And now I am freaking out because I have never had an STD and the thought of having HSV II is killing me.  I want to hate him and need to get tested myself, what test should I tell my doctor to give me since I have never had any blisters or bumps or anything.

odds are you've never been tested for herpes before to know your status. I'd seek out your own igg type specific testing now just to be sure of your status.

if your bf gets a return of symptoms, he should be seen again.

I took the numbers from the paper from his Dr. I am positive that is how it was stated.  And I am from the US.

I contacted my Dr. immediately, he told me to wait 3 months and to come in and be tested but I should not worry too much since I have never had any symptoms.

He is hsv1+. Even if he can't recall ever having had obvious cold sores before, odds are his hsv1 is oral.

He is hsv2 negative.

have you been tested to know your own status?

So his results for HSV2 IgG were <0.2, are you sure? Are you in the US? This is not the usual way to report results for the most common tests.
