My Herpes test

i traveled on Dec 2013 and when i came back ,
on March 2014, i found out there was some red spots on my lips but it does not make any pain

i went to doctor on March 2014 and he told me that it is herpes and he gave me zovirax cream and Famvir

after 1 month doctor told me to stop the cream and keep taking the Famvir

after 2 weeks of stopping the Zovirax

I requested the doctor to do for me the Herpes blood test to be sure that i have the herpes

when they took my blood for test , i was taking the Famvir.

i received the result and all were negative ( IgG & IgM ) for HSV1 & HSV2

for IgG both HSV1&2  Were     <0,2 Index  ( Negative )
for IgM botrh HSV1&2 Were     <0,4 Index  ( Negative )

and i just have a simple questions about the results .

does it mean that i am free of herpes ?

also, Is it Possible that it may come positive without any cause ?

and Does Famvir affect on the results ?

This would suggest you do not have oral herpes.

Testing can miss 1 in 10 infections. That isn't too many. If all you are having is red dots then I'd suggest this isn't herpes.

I see no reason for you to take medication whether you do or do not have oral HSV1 unless you are experiencing severe symptoms.
