NEGATIVE EQUIVOCAL POSITIVE RESULTS

So i just got back from the doctor and they sent my blood work to lab corp. Everything came back negative but herpes 1/11 combination. I've NEVER had an outbreak no cold sore nothing. I've had the same partner for over a year n to my knowledge neither has he, but I can swear for anyone. My results where

Herpes I/II Combination ..........1.81H
.............................................Negative 1.09

What does this mean??
I freaked out on my boyfriend and I'm hoping it wasnt a false negative.

your hsv test is +. that said, it was the non-type specific test and was a total waste of time for you.

why did you get tested?

My boyfriend had cheated so I got tested for everything.... So it isnt saying what type I have jus tthat i have it? is it bad? Oh gosh

has your bf been tested to know his own hsv status?

you can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea 1 week after you last had sex with your partner,   syphilis anytime after 6 weeks. herpes anytime after 3-4 months.  Your partner will need tested for these std's at these times and then if he's positive for anything, you'll need tested for what he's positive for too.  If you have sex before this time period is up, be sure to use a condom.

when you do repeat your herpes testing, make sure it's a type specific test so you know your exact hsv1 and hsv2 status. the test you had done is meaningless and you can't ascertain anything about your hsv status from it.
