symptoms) so I went back to the clinic for another inspection. I was then told by the doctor he thought it could be HSV in my urethra, took two swab tests and gave me a 5 day course of Valtrex. I will get the results of the swabs in a weeks time.
A week has now passed and I have now completed the coures of valtrex. I have noticed a few small white spots/lumps under my foreskin now but they are >1mm in size and really need to inspect myself to find them. The tingling sensation still persists 4 weeks after first signs of infection, I don't have any pain, blisters, sores or flu like symptoms and feel really healthy, Is this really likely to be HSV? For the tingling sensation to last so long without blisters etc??
anything you really have to inspect yourself to find, most likely isn't anything to worry about. Really sounds like pearly papules you are finding around your foreskin right now.
Call and ask if your herpes swabs are back. It only takes a few days to do them.
I called the clinic back this morning and they informed me they won't get the results back for another week.
Whilst on the call the nurse/receptionist i was talking to asked if i still had symptoms, i told her the tingling sensation was still persistant and that the Valtrex hadn't really worked at all, thats when she informed me that sometimes the initial outbreak can be just the tingling sensation with no open sores etc? Is this really possible? And to have this tingling for 4 weeks almost constantly?
I really don't think another week of worrying/stressing about this is going to do my health any good. At the minute i can think of nothing else.
Just tingling and no obvious lesions isn't likely to be due to herpes. I've had herpes ob's in my urethra - it's not something you would describe as tingling. Hurts like a mofo.
