Need clarification

I am a 20 year old female. In September on 2013 I had a negative HSV 2 test, and a positive for HSV 1. All of my siblings have cold sores, so I figured it was reasonable that I would test positive. My sisters say they're pretty sure I have had cold sores. I do get canker sores, that my doctor visually said was "herpes".

I have gotten paper cut like tears vaginally, and circular lesions. I have gotten all of them cultured within 48 hours, and all of them have been negative for HSV 1, and 2. I got a blood test again in March of 2014, negative for HSV 2 and again positive for HSV 1. My partner got tested he was negative for type one and two, he got tested 3 months after his last unprotected encounter, however he does have sex with other people using condoms. He and I had unprotected sex for about 30 seconds, I didn't see anything on his penis, but during oral I felt something weird in his penis head. (sorry so much information) so now i'm paranoid maybe it was herpes.

I had more circular lesions popped up a different doctor said the same thing as the one before that it looked like dry irritated chafing skin. ALL of these symptoms occur when I have BV, so I am starting to see a correlation. My primary care doc is now saying it could possibly be caused by HSV 1...but my cultures come back negative...the reason I am so distressed that he is saying HSV 1 is because the guy who raped me was the reason I was worried about herpes in the first place back in 2013, and he had been the only person to perform oral sex on me...so to know that this could possibly be from that is the most heart wrenching, gut turning, feeling in the world. Is their a chance that this isn't HSV 1? I had PCR swabs done every time, and now I have three bug bite looking spots on my outer buttock that I am having looked at in the morning...I'm at a lost, and still concerned about my last sexual encounter that lasted 20 seconds and the possibility of HSV 2. He is negative for type one and 2 but he isn't monogamous although he does consistently use condoms. Is this a low risk exposer, and a good chance he doesn't have herpes? When is the earliest I could get a conclusive blood test for HSV 2?

Thanks so much

Thanks Life360! However it wasn't from his last exposer just his last unprotected exposer. Does that make a difference?

Thank you again so much

I've had more concerning issues. This week I had what appeared to be bumps, then I had red areas that looked like a scrape on my vaginal lip. The bumps are gone, and so are the scrapes/leisions however I'm unsure if the bumps were where the leisions were. I immediately went to the doctor she said the skin just looked irritated...I asked her even though I had bumps? She said it didn't change her opinion. The bumps just looked like red pimples I believe, they didn't look like they had any fluid. She didn't culture them. I will be approaching the 10 week mark on July 20th could I consider these results conclusive? My recent partner and I are not monogamous. He got tested three months after his last unprotected exposer he was negative, his other two partners (he uses condoms) also tested negative. I guess I'm just worried they didn't test at the appropriate times. Please help!!

And I'm also having muscle pains in my legs and buttocks. Could be related to herpes? Thanks so much for all your help.

So assuming my partner who isn't monogamous who was tested 3 months after his last unprotected exposer can I be pretty confident I didn't catch herpes from him? I tested 3 weeks after our encounter as sort of a baseline since I was with my ex boyfriend before that. Also if he did (My most recent partner) indeed had herpes in the urethra, would it be painful? What's worrying me was when I was performing oral it felt weird, not like a bump or pus just weird feeling that I hadn't noticed before.

Your blood test came back negative at the correct window period so you dont have hsv2. Also herpes sores are not white heads.

My doc examined the spots and said it didn't look herpetic but she didn't see one that I just noticed it looked similar to a white head, they all kind of had a white spot yesterday. Should I be worried that this is HSV2? Should I get it cultured?

Thank you so much. This has helped me ease my mind. I'll post results as soon as I get another test. It's really great what you all do.

No, it would not. In all most all cases, those that test positive for hsv1 is oral.

Thank you for your response. If it reasonable that I could be infected with HSV 1 in the genitals although I have had cold sores and a negative culture?

Hi, testing 3-4 months post exposure with a negative result would be conclusive that you dont have herpes.
