Need help interpreting lab results for HSV I/II IgG Rflx I-II Type Spec

So I'm freaking out. I got a comprehensive panel done for STIs over a week ago, after results from the same test 4 months ago got lost in translation. 4 months ago I had been having irritation, burning, and discharge, but no sores or bumps or anything. The doctor originally said she thought it was chlamydia. On the panel I just received the results from, everything else showed up negative but the HSV results:

HSV I/II IgG: 14.3 High
index 0.0-0.8
Negative 1.0

HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec: 3.59 High
index 0.00-0.9
Negative 1.09

HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec: <0.91 (same index, Neg, Equi, and Pos reference intervals as the test above)

The doctor I went to was at an urgent care clinic, and spoke horrible, broken English. I'm confused and worried that I have something seriously wrong with me, and I dont know how I could have gotten this, since I've always been careful and use condoms almost every time and I've been in a faithful relationship with my boyfriend for almost 2 1/2 years now. I was tested at my gynecologist in July 2011 and nothing was wrong, and he was tested several months before me with the same results (nothing wrong). Please please please can someone help me interpret these results and give me insight as to what I should do next? I'm really freaking out here :( :( :(

I thought (keyword) that I was getting the comprehensive blood panel and urine culture every year. I thought this past july I did but theres always a chance it wasnt. I've been attempting to communicate with my GYN so hopefully she can give me guidance as for what to do from here and if I was tested for it in july. I'm just slightly upset because Ive been with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years and during that time I've been tested twice, and nothing has ever shown up. And Ive always asked for the blood panels for everything :/. But thank you for your help, I appreciate having someone to give me some guidance!

were you ever tested for herpes before this?  was it part of the testing you had had back in july? it's not routine std testing so if you aren't sure, call and find out.

even the best blood tests still miss 1 out of every 10 hsv1 infections. hard to tell if you contracted it since you were last tested or had it previously and it wasn't picked up on.  you know you have it now though so that you and any future partners can discuss it together and make educated decisions as to precautions based on both of your statuses.

Okay I feel a little better now, thank you! I havent had any symptoms since I went that first time several months ago. The doctor at that time had given me medication and it cleared everything up just fine, hence why I didnt rush to find out why I was never called about results. Is it possible that I couldve been positive for HSV 1 for awhile now and it just didnt show up til now?

you tested + for hsv1. Most adults do test + for it. 1 out of every 2-3 people you know has it. it's THAT common.  even if you can't recall ever having had cold sores, odds are your hsv1 is oral since your description of genital symptoms doesn't really sound like herpes.

your hsv2 is negative and since you waited 4 months to test, you can trust the results.

are you still having symptoms?
