Negative again ?

I am a male and i was exposed to sexual contact with another male about 2 months ago. It was primarily just fondling and oral but no anal.A week later i notice consistent muscle twitching all over my body as well as joint pain.He told me that he didnt have anything but after a week i started to notice weird symptoms. i urged him to get another STD test . While he was getting his test done, i had my done about 3 weeks after exposure; all stds and hsv 1/2 IGG and IGM all came back negative. about a week after that i started to notice swollen lymph nodes on my groin and started to feel random inconsistent stings in my genitals but still no sores or lesions. He then got his results back and he came out positive for HSV 1. About 2 weeks after that i had another full STD test along with HSV 1/2 IGM, and CBC, which all came back negative and normal. Its been 2 months and still i have not seen any lesions or sores and no pain while urinating but still to this day i experience random inconsistent stings and chronic non-stop twitching and joint pains. He did not have any sores on his mouth or genitals when i saw him. after some time 7 weeks after exposure i had another IGG HSV1/2  test and they came back negative again. Could i have still contracted herpes or could it just be a virus even though these are not common symptoms ?

I would just like to say thank you to everyone in this thread for the support and advice ...I received my blood test results, that was tested this week (10th week since exposure) and the antibody ratio number was really low for both HSV 1/2 IGG.

Both tests came back 0.13, which is negative ...and now i can finally rule out the herpes simplex virus and focus on finding out why my symptoms are occurring.

Once again Thank you  everyone! =)

Hey Life360 (and whoever else wanted to know) I have my numerical results from the last test that was 7 weeks from exposure.

HSV 1/2 IGG came back 0.13 negative
0.89 or less for no detection
0.90 -1.09 for indeterminate
1.10 or higher for postive

HSV 1/2 IGM came back 0.68 negative

0.89 or less for no detection
0.90 -1.09 for indeterminate
1.10 or higher for postive

Does this look like I'm in good shape ?
I still have not gotten an outbreak and still dealing with the same symptoms
I also retested today (10 weeks from exposure)

OK I've been also experiencing anal itching but didn't have any sort of anal sex or penetration ....no rash but just like a slight irritation. And going back to my last question

Would testing 10 weeks from exposure be considered to early to test ? Because I'm getting really impatient even though my last test came back negative from 7 weeks since exposure

Yes, you can have prodrome symptoms without ever having an outbreak. The problem is, other conditions can mimic prodrome symptoms, so without the outbreak it remains hard to be totally sure.

And yes, any genital contact to skin that might be shedding HSV virus can expose a person to HSV, whether the other person has visible outbreaks or not.

If he only has HSV1, and he gave you that orally, then you shouldn't even worry about it anyhow. Most people end up getting HSV1 eventually simply from kissing at Christmas parties or sharing a cup with a family member. It's simply a fact of life when you live in and around other humans. Who cares where you acquired the HSV1. On the other hand, HSV2 causes more issues socially and can cause more severe symptoms than HSV1 when it's below the waist .

Can you have prodrome symptoms (such as itching, tingling)  without have a first outbreak ?

what is the chances if my genital touched his male genitalia of contracting the viruses?

Its up to  you but its really low risk. I would not be overly concerned at all.

Hi, 8 weeks post exposure would be a good indicator and if he did not have any sores at the time your risk would be close to zero from a one time affair.

From what I've read it can take as long as 12 – 16 weeks for your body to build up enough antibodies to be detected after exposure.  The fact that you've tested negative and haven't seen any visible outbreaks is pretty good news, and you most likely are in the clear, however if you want to be absolutely 100% sure you don't have anything then go get tested in another 4-8 weeks.
