dude mess up do happen in labs sometimes maybe it was just that. these bloods tests are incredibly sensitive an it would have picked up the anti bodies you body would have produced in order to keep the outbreak from happening, which is what u said is happening. if your are using any type specific igg herpes test then u can be pritty dam well certain that you are not infected if the result is negative and enough time has passed, which in ur case it has. my only suggestion would be to take another swab of anything else that pops up and take it from there.
PS: A positive culture is 100% accurate. You have HSV2. The blood work situation is very odd. I'd recommend the Western Blot, as it is 99% accurate for detecting HSV2.
Do you have HSV1 currently?
It's situations like this that downright frighten me. First, what type of HSV blood tests have you taken? IGG, IGM, etc. ??? Have you ever done the Western Blot?
It's not uncommon to test positive via culture and test negative via blood if not enough of time has passed for antibodies to develop. However, it's been quite some time for your blood still to show a negative.
Can you describe your initial symptoms? Lesions?
