I tested 1.84 for igm, negative herpes 1 and 2,  please bare with me because I'm new to this and I feel like ****,  I will start from the beginning and try to be short.  I had sex with a new partner, about 10 times over a three day period,  then thought i got a yeast infection, douched with vinegar a few times,  then the next weekend, I got back together with the same guy, but was on my period, so instead of having sex i was going to go down on him, I noticed a few bumps on him, I looked at them they weren't, like any pictures i've seen on the internet, nothing herpes, warts, nothing and believe me I've looked at every picture over and over, he said he has had them for as long as he could remember, he's had them checked and there just like moles or something,  but I freak out, put alcohol on my crotch, douche with vinigar, wipe with vinegar, just start going crazy, this was saturday night, then monday I go in for test's negative everything, but the 1.84 igm.  I even call a girl he said he has dated like 4 months earlier and asked her she said she had never felt funny or had any issues, (just saying)  mean while now my crotch is on fire,  no pain while I pee, and no noticeable bump, like a herpe, or blister. Just Red,and  irritated, so the Dr. told me to quit everything, just let my private be (I had the dr look at my croch, he said he didn't see and thing). So I do, and I't starts to feel better.  Just itchy. Then wedensday I get the igm results and demand my dr put me on aclcyvoir which he does (he look's at my vagina again and says, he doesnt see anything,  he does say that I tested negative for type1 and type 2 but had a elevated level which he say's could mean nothing,  I'd have to wait 3 months to retest, but I tell him that I feel the burn in my crotch and I'm not leaving without medication), 400mg 5x day for 10 day's I've taken 10 doses,  still no noticeable, bump on my vagina, really seems to me like a yeast infection, gone bad, but I've really only had about 3 yeast infections in my life, but seems to be the same.  I've looked at my croch probly every other hour for the past week, don't see any blister, just redness.
Now on to my lip,  same time line with test's and dr visit.  So I look at my lip and see a white spot,  seriously look's like fordyce spot like a little patch of skin that is white, mind you I did the same with my mouth alcohol, mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide, neosporin, from saturday, till wedensady when I got the results then I went and got campho phenique to, along with acyclovoir I'm taking, and am In the mirror about every half an hour, and there is no change in this white, "fordyce spots" on my lip,  mind you I have noticed these spots before, It's normal for me, but' what i think is different about them this time might be the hydrogen peroxde that turned the skin white,( I also have chapped lip's as we went sleding 2 day's last week) and the spot is so small, like the size of a grain of rice,  looks like fordyce spots exactly, but I almost think It tingle's,  so if this is herpe's when will it progress, because nothing is happening,  mind you I've been stressed out have lost like 8- 10 lb's  been drinking plenty of water,
Now, on to the side effect's of the acyclovior,  my butt burns now thinking from the diearea and my skin feels like i have a wind rash, and my inner thighs and armpits feel like I'm getting a rash, Just really dry, and hot. so do my cheeks and back of my neck,  I can only compare the feeling in my thighs to a rash I had as a child, I know that doesn't help much, I have insommnia, loss of appitite,  stomach cramps, and I was pale until today .

Here's some more useful info, I have nerve damage, already from a back injury, I've had injection's,  and have had this nerve problem for over 2 years to the point I'm considering surgery just FYI
Just tell me something,  i guess I'm getting use to the idea of living with herpes, I went from not wanting to know to now I want to do the suppression medicine,but I don't know what to think I'm ashamed and feel guilty,  i can't kiss my kid's, and that breaks my heart the most, that and I did kiss them up till saturday night and now I check there mouths like every hour I took them to the dr wedensday, to get checked.  My four year old came in the room when I was on the computer and said Is that Herpes?  MY four year old said Herpes!!!

your self treating technique of throwing everything but the kitchen sink at your body is doing you far more harm than good. you've wasted a lot of time and money and now you've overly irritated 2 parts of your body.  

let's start at the top. your lip issues.  hydrogen peroxide is non-chlorine bleach. it should not be used for routine skin care. combined with drying out your lips with alcohol and mouthwash, you bleached it and then put neosporin on top of it to boot. no wonder they are tingling!!!  stop using everything , including the camphophenique.  At this point do nothing but apply vaseline to moisturize the lips or even simple lip balm like chapstick is fine.  

now to your genital area. no more douching!  douching alters the vaginal ph and can also force infections further up in to your reproductive tract which can result in long term issues and even infertility.  vinegar is also an acid and can be very irritating especially if done repeatedly in a short period of time.  gyn's recommend never douching for this reason.  At this point I'd do nothing genitally other than soak in the bathtub once a day with a packet of aveeno bath thrown in ( colloidal oatmeal ) or even baking soda.

your testing was done far too early and it sounds like it wasn't very complete either. let things settle down and then monday or tuesday go and be seen and get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. you also can be tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea then too.  if they see any signs of herpes or syphilis, they can test properly for them then. otherwise you need to wait at least 6 weeks after you last had sex to get a syphilis blood test done and 3 months to get a herpes igg blood test done and hiv testing done.   at this point you have no reason to think you have herpes!!

Just got a call from Nurse( Type Specific Test results ) Herpes Type 1  IGG 0.03  Herpes Type 2 IGG .51  Herpes IGM 1.84      Does This mean negative???

your testing only means that you didn't have hsv1 or hsv2 prior to the encounter in question. as I already said, your testing was done far too early to be accurate for a newly acquired infection.

So I think I have herpes, I've been tested which was negative but probly to early to tell, went on acyclovir for a few day's then got treated for Bacterial Vaginosis, then yeast infection, now i have this patch of skin on inner side of vigina (vagina) that is just uncomfortable, and unforgettable.  I went to the doctor friday, she said it doesn't look like herpes, just irritated skin. She took a test and another blood test which I should have results back in 2 business days. I'm putting desitin on it will the zinc help? I'm taking L lysine but not sure how much to take?  Then when I felt this O B coming on because I think I have it I will say out break, I feel tingling in my corners of my lips, my eye's and my arm pit's, does that mean that I have it in these places to?  Mind you no symptoms there just the dry tingling feeling, my eyes almost sting. mind you I threw away the acyclovir when I was treated for BV, wish i hadn't cause i would deffinetly take them now, even tho i think I'm one of the people that will suffer hair loss from them.

Can you have a syphilis outbreak within a week or two of being infected?

ok, 1 more thing, why doesn't the irritation, progress in to sore or blister, how long does it take from tingle, to rash to blister to scab ,

also the spot on my lip is still there, no blister, no change, been like 3 weeks

and I took flagyl for 7 day's, and docycycline for 7 day's and 2 dose's of the 1 pill yeast med,  and still have this spot on my vaginal lip been here for at least a week, i read some where herpes doesnt have to have blister's,

have you herd of herplex? any thought's

lysine isn't really  helpful at all for herpes anyways. no dose was found to speed healing of herpes lesions in the studies done on it.

at this point, the best you can do is go back to your providers as needed for follow up. get your type specific herpes igg blood test repeated 3 or 4 months after the last time you had sex prior to all of this.  

you were seen and your provider didn't think your symptoms were due to syphilis.  you can repeat your testing for that when you do your herpes repeat testing if you want.

not clear cut answers by no means but it's the best you can do at this point.

So 6 weeks ago I believe I had an exposure to herpes, got tested a week later, herpes igg type 1  0.03   herpes igg type 2 0.51 herpes igm 1.84 so just was retested because the spot on my vagina wont go away and hurts,  new results herpes   type 1 igg 0.04 , herpes igg type 2 0.35 and herpes igm 1.61,  the dr came in and told me i have herpes 1, I said ok can i see the test, and i see it says negative type1 negative type 2 positive herpe simplex,  and i tell her that that's not what it means it plainly says negaive and im not having symptoms on my mouth, my rash is on my vagina lip, and i also tell her that i have been doing resurch that says that the igm level in unreliable, so she says that she will be right back, i older male doctor comes in and matter of factly procedes to give me a for instance explanation of hepatitis, i tell him can we just stick to herpes. He proceedes to tell me my igg levels are low because my body hasn't built up antibodies yet, and they will increase and the igm level means I have been recently infected. Which I think is true but, he wouldn't listen when I tried to explain the igm level, he said that the igm is type specific to herpes, which means I have a herpes infection pf some type but havnt built up enogh antibodies to test positive. What do you think of this? please anyone awnser i just want to bounce  also they did a culture not sure what they tested for but it was all negative, how ever back on acyclovir and my pain and irritation seems to be healing

really nothing else I can add at this point. You will need to wait and repeat your herpes igg testing 3 or 4 months after the encounter in question and go from there.

it's not likely a herpes lesion will stick around for 6 weeks unchanged either.  should you get new symptoms genitally, be seen again for further evaluation.

So I'm back on acyclovir 10 day 5 pills a day, and I feel like crap, Do you think it's the herpe's or the Acyclovir, Felt bad before, but mostly because of the pain, I've lost like 10 lb's this month due to stressing and no appitite, How ever when my last outbreak cleared up my appitite came back, but my next out break hit Within a week, and my dr is out of town for two more weeks, i know i need to do the full corse of this med but I think it's making me sick, my back hurts like heck, i do have a bad back, but it normally doesnt hurt unless i do stuff and I havn't been doing much. Also, now since I found out that I have herpes I'm really stressing about HIV, wow I can't believe I just said that, I need help, NoOne to talk to, how did I do this to myself/  And the guy won't talk to me just say's he is sick of this herpes stuff, and leave him alone. say's he got tested and needs to retest in a few months like hell he knows he has it and denies it, and could have protected me but didn't, so what's to say he didn't have something worse,or els if ur sensitive.  I need to quit strssing and googling everything, but I'm just so scared and the more i google the scareder I get.

sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to turn off the computer and walk away. keep yourself busy so you don't obsess about things more than necessary!!  Plenty of things you can do this time of year - bake cookies, volunteer somewhere, find an eldery neighbor who's family isn't near and spend time with them.  anything to keep you from googling needlessly and adding to your stress :)

My question is if i experence prodome symptoms in my armpits, eyes, and corner of my lips does that mean I have been exposed there, and that I can have an outbreak,  my lip has tinggled with both of my OB but never had a sore, can you shed some light, and my eye's seem to sting and my armpit's hurt what are your thoughs?

it's not likely you are experiencing herpes prodromal symptoms on all these body parts.  follow up with your provider to get a better idea of what is going on.

Do reoccuring outbreaks always happen is same place?, how often will I have OB? is suppression treatment really successful?  how can I protect my partner tips? I want to have sex with my on again off again boyfriend love of mylife, but got this when we were broke up, I've been avoiding him for like 2 months, scared I will give it to him, infact, might have already. And I can't tell him, he would hate me, dang just have to quit loving that dude, this **** hurts so bad, , how do you tell pepole this, I don't want to, but I'd hate to see him cry like I have, and I know he needs to make his own decsions but I need him

can i push herpes up inside me if I have sex during a OB, and what if i masterbate, can i masterbate during an OB, or should I just not,   Don't understand why the pain isn't going away, I've been talking acyclovir 5 tmes a day since sunday and still have pain, and the rash or irritated skin is stll irritated it's been like 2 weeks, wondering if this isn't herpes, and if I might need an anitbiotic seems, I had cleared up and felt good for a few day's and after testing negative the first time apologized to the dude that gave this crap to me, and then had him back over, we were going to mess around again, and he started rubbing me vaginally, for like 3 minutes, maybe 1 or 2, then I changed my mind, and a few days later I feel like I'm infected again,  so i get another yeast infection pill,  and then with no relief go to the dr. again to have it looked at, swab done negative, visual says looks like irritate skin,  no blisters, just sore patch of skin about the size of a fifty cent piece that is not getting better this is crazy, what if I have syphillis (syphilis) or something and these dr. dont diagnoss it in time, maybe my first antibiotic treated it and then I got it from his hand again? am I just crazy? I have a few pills of doxycycline left think I might take them to see if that helps, have enough to get me threw the weekend, or should I go to emergancy room, or should I give the acyclovir a few more days to kick in It hurt's so bad is this normal, also when i went back into the dr on monday, I wanted them to look at this again, but he was addiment that my igm was positive and that means herpes, I tried to explain to him that it is unreliable, but got discouraged, i need to ad that they sad the clture came back negative for eveything,  I didn't ask what that means,  I think i they need to look to other possibilities, this pain is constant and unforgettable,

So, I told my son's dad that I think I have herpes, And he was very supportive, He told me that he didn't care what I have it doesn't change his feelings for me. Is this thing on...???  Just wondering is there anyone following, my story??? or is it just me and Grace,  I think I may have to log off for a while, I've been on the computer reserching herpes, evey spare minute that I can, infact it is all that I think about. Which is getting totally out of control, I have driven myself half crazy, and this can't be good for me or my children,  I am at this point so parinoid about HIV that I just break down in tears, i feel sick just when I have to admit it's a possibility, and then, to remember that is how I felt about herpes. And then I want to look up symptoms, and percentages of how many people with herpes have HIV, and to tell you the truth at this point I can't bring myself to do it. I think it actualy makes me sick, I wonderif this guy was in denial about his herpes he maybe he was in denial about other things as well, am I way overboard or did the rest of you have these concerns to.

I agree with Grace.  You have done a lot of research at first.  You feel as though you have Herpes.  There is a chance that this partner didn't even have it.  

Furthermore, you won't find many regulars who post here to disagree with grace.  Relax.  You are to this point negative.  Relax, breathe, and just mellow out.  Find something to do like clean your house or make me a pie instead of looking things up on Herpes.  I found I lost weight when I would go out walking instead of looking up things.  Ask grace I was just like you and came out looking good.
