No symptoms but tested positive

I tested positive for hsv-2, but have not had any symptoms, not even the first out break. I also have molluscum, so I was wondering could it be a false positive test? p.s. If I did contract hsv-2 virus I had it for 9 months or so. Thank You.

Hey16
For Herpes virus 1 and 2 there are two type of test one swab of the sore/lesion ans another one is IGG test by blood. So if you had blood test, is it IGG or IGM?

I don't know the exact results, but I'll talk to my doctor. World78 I'm not sure what you're asking but it was a blood test.

I can best help you if you post your exact test results - ie hsv1 igg 5.3 and hsv2 igg 2.9 or whatever they are. That way we can be sure you were properly tested and see if you need additional confirmatory testing.

no, having molluscum will not cause a + hsv2 test result.
