Not Again - Herpes

I had what appeared to be herpes a few years ago, then it went away never to reappear. I ended marrying the gal who I thought it came from. Now the past two months I've had these small bumps \/ blisters all over my penis. I guess I should go see a doctor, but we don't have insurance now and if I have it (herpes) I have it and there is nothing can do about it. Since my spouse and I have unprotected sex all the time she probably has it too. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions about going to see a doctor.

muchas gracias

He lied to me.  Said he didn't have any outbreaks after the first time in 2008, which is in another thread.  He said it must not have been herpes.  Yet, here he is over three years later talking about it again!  Which means...it's been going on the whole time and he put me at risk knowing this.

I was aware of the first thread since he made me get tested.  I was informed I needed to recheck this site.  And, here it is.  Disgusted and disturbed right now.

Seriously, people need to inform their partners.  That is cruel!

You don't stay away from someone and hide the fact that you are having outbreaks. That's wrong on so many levels.

Makes the person think you just don't want to be around them.  Not to mention....they you risk giving it to them.

Geeze!  Anyone with this needs to open with their partner(s)!

Why didn't you tell your girlfriend about it?
and....you were already married, so if you had a re-infestation of this type of disease.....shouldn't you have told your girlfriend and your wife?

Your wife led me here.....

Good advice from patchoulli - I know our local health department also offers paying on a sliding scale - you should have luck there. Or, Planned Parenthood) At this point, it would be helpful for both of you to be tested (be sure it's an IgG type specific blood test, and of course swab of active symptoms if you have them). That way, you'll know what you have and can make educated decisions about any precautions around sex if need be (should one be positive and the other negative).

The health department did my testing, they did the IGG and it took about a week for the results.  In total, it was about a hundred dollars, they even wrote me a script for alcyclovir.  If I had an active lesion, they would have swabbed it at that time. In Florida, they have a sliding scale that determines how much you will have to pay.  My price was without a discount of any kind, good luck
