that was fairly large and hurt. I told her and she immediately got a test that came back positive with HSV-1 with "freshly developed antibodies." I myself got the type specific serology test following her results and it came back negative. Another thing, she developed similar pimples on her vaginal
area. She insists that I gave her genital HSV-1 even after my test results came back negative. Should I wait awhile and get another test due to a possible false-negative? Is there a way to determine blame as she so vehemently insists? It seems that since both of our symptoms developed at the same time (because neither of us have had previous symptoms) that there could be a correlation. How long can antibodies take to develop? If the virus remains dormant can the antibodies develop when it becomes active? Is it possible that my pimple is just due to the results of copulation. I also want to know if it is common
I'm going to assume that the "freshly developed antibodies" is the herpes igm test. it's a very flawed test and it's not recommended to be drawn on adults for the purpose of diagnosing herpes.
did either of you have lesion cultures for herpes done on your symptoms?
do you know if your herpes blood testing was igg or igm? if you can call and get the results to post here, I will gladly look at them for you - e.g. hsv1 igg .45 and hsv2 igg .29 or whatever they are is all I need to see.
