One Bump Keeps Appearing

So about a month ago i had protected sex with this girl and it wasn't for very long.  The next day a couple of my friends told me that they heard a rumor saying that she had herpes.  I immediately began to freak out and asked her if she had anything and she repeatedly said no.  About 5 days after i noticed a red bump on my scrotum right on the backside behind my right testicle.  It didn't hurt or anything but after a couple of days i did pop it and it seemed to be just like a pimple.  After I popped it i washed the area and after a couple more days it was gone.  After about 5 more days i noticed another red bump in a similar area but again didn't hurt, this time I didn't pop it and it just went away after a couple of days.  After about 2 weeks i noticed a little tiny bump on my shaft, i again freaked out and kept touching it and looking at it and it sort of got bigger kind of like a normal pimple.  It didn't hurt or itch or anything but i did pop it and it seemed just like a pimple.  After a couple days it disappeared and there is no mark or anything.  Its been another two weeks and i just noticed another little red bump on the left side of my scrotum kind of were the first red bump was but on the opposite side.  I am constantly washing down there and trying to keep it dry but i have anxiety and can't stop freaking out that it might be herpes.  I asked the girl again and she told me she got tested and everything came back negative.  I have just never seen these bumps down there until after having sex with this girl.  I have never had pimples on my scrotum or my shaft so i don't know if it is just stress from thinking about it or if it really could be herpes.  Each time its only one bump coming by itself.  It doesn't blister or pus and have never come in clusters.  I am constantly reading forums though and each time i feel like it scares me more because each one says any little red bump is a possibility of herpes.  It has been a month and every forum says between 2 and 10 days and you will see a cluster of bumps that with pop, pus and then crust over which i haven't seen any of them.  However, if i get any little itch down there i immediately start to freak out again.  I am at school which is a ways away from my doctor so i don't know if I should try and find transportation home or if i am just overreacting about nothing.  Please help me and give me any comments as to what you think it is.  Thank you!!

already told you it wasn't likely to be herpes or std related.

So I went to the doctor and he seemed pretty positive that it was only folliculitis.  However I felt like a waited a while to go to the doctors and not sure if the infection could of got really bad.  I am taking oral medication and applying cream twice a day and I'm on my fifth day.  Seems like its getting better but I was just wondering if you knew how long it should take to completely go away.  I still have some irritation especially when my belt or something rubs against the area.  How long should it take to completely be gone and if it doesn't go away after all the medication?  Should i be worried about something else like herpes or another condition?

I am going home this weekend and going to get checked out.  I was just wondering if you thought that there was any chance that it was herpes.  I know it is just a rumor but still it makes you think a lot.  Seeing my only symptom is only one bump i don't think it is but do you have any idea what it might be if you don't think its herpes.  Everything online says a cluster of bumps that pus and then crust over which i haven't seen at all.  If its been over a month would i have seen something by now.  It tough because all though it is a rumor now people believe that i do have something.  Im just trying to understand if you think i have something with just one bump and kind of itchy.

you don't need checked for everything - you had protected sex!!

you just need to be seen for someone to look at your symptoms, not full std screening. make sense?

yeah but they send you to a clinic and its 480 dollars to get checked for everything. as of right now I'm not trying to spend that much money if it is nothing.  do you have any ideas of what it might be.

time to call off the crotch watch and find a new hobby dear!!! You are adding to your anxiety needlessly and causing yourself more irritation with all this checking yourself out and scrubbing :(

We recommend protected sexual contact because it works!  The odds that you contracted genital herpes from a one time protected encounter are very low.  You don't even know if this gal even has genital herpes - you are just listening to the rumor mill!!

Isn't there a clinic at school you can be seen at?
