Outbreak close to delivery

I have genital HSV-1 which I got in 1998. I have not had an outbreak for 4 years and started Valtrex last week as a preventative because I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. Sure enough I began an OB yesterday. Could this have been triggered by the Valtrex? Why did the OB emerge if I'm taking Valtrex??? If the OB has healed by the time I go into labour can I deliver normally? What are the risks of passing on the virus - seeing as it's not a primary outbreak and the baby likely has immunity? I’ve read that the risk of a C-section are actually higher than the risk of transmission to the baby?

The valtrex dose should be 500mg 2x/day until you've delivered.

No, the valtrex didn't trigger the ob, it's just a coincidence.

It's 37 weeks and you are on medication, as long as it's a week until you deliver it's ok to still deliver vaginally.

The risk of transmission if there isn't an active lesion present at the time of delivery is less than 1%.
