I am currently researching ozone therapy and I hope that it will be successful in removing the HSV-2 symptoms. I have heard that such therapy kills the virus in the body by forcing it not to form its capsule needed to reproduce in the cells. I wonder, after I have this done, is there a way for me to test if I have active HSV-2 cells in my body? I know I will always have antibodies for HSV-2, but can that be a marker on whether or not I will forever have live herpes virus? I am kind of confused about antibodies, I know they are meant to kill the virus, but they do not really because we will always have it. Can you tell me if there are tests to calculate whether or not we have active herpes?
I was researching I found that over time some people with HPV (genital warts) will ultimately rid themselves of the virus on its own. Why is herpes so different? why can we not freeze of lesions?
These maybe stupid questions, but the more I read the more confused I get.
don't waste your time or money on the ozone therapy. it's a total crock. It doesn't work. You will still always have herpes. It will always shed periodically even if you aren't having obvious symptoms. Put your money where it will do the most good - daily suppressive therapy which does work - to both reduce ob's and to reduce overall viral shedding.
I second that recommendation. Herpes is for life, so if you want to "treat" it, you may as well go with what we know works for the least amount of $$, because you will be treating it for a l-o-n-g time. Try acyclovir, since it's generic and it's really cheap. Where I get mine, they might as well be giving the stuff away, it's so cheap.
