PARANOID FOR LAST 8 YEARS HERPES?

Question

i never was a sexually active person. i got oral sex 1 time in my whole life and my friend was with me and he did as well. 3 weeks later i was masterbauting and prior to the oral sex i never washed behind my foreskin and noone ever taught me how to. i'm not circumsized. while i was masterbauting my penis inflamed, did not have any itching, started having a yellow discharge, not from my penile hole but on the lower side of my penis between the head and foreskin and i also seen a small cut under my foreskin on the top part of my head with puss and this happened while i was masterbauting  like instantly like scractching a infection on a leg.. then later on where my vein connects to the foreskin and the penile hole, i seen a white blister ontop of the edge of foreskin and again instantly. no clusters. i had severe pain in stomach. i went to the hospital and they weren't sure what it was 100% they didnt think it was herpes because nothing was clustered together. they did all the tests and lost my tests. i waited quite some time and my blood tests for herpes came back negative or low positive. my friend also had a burning inflamed penis, got treatment and he was fine so was i. he also got blood tests done and so forth and everything came back negative and he had them done 2 years after even. i never had sex since then I'm 29 now and i never noticed anything unusual. the only thing the hospital doctor said could be a uti of some sort or chlamedyia. i think about this everyday and lost nights of sleep, never had sex for 8 years. after i received treatment i seen some scabs on the top part of my foreskin not under my foreskin but no reddness or itching or tingling this was right after they gave me medicine, and since that day nothing ever happened again. Even when i masterbauting 3 or 4 times a day and not washing all the time, i know poor hygene. but i fixed all that. should i stop worrying now?

Gamma Dyna care told me that most, if not all, labs in Canada do HSV testing somewhere. Herpe Select is the only type specific brand of tests authorized by Health Canada. You might actually have to do the legwork and find out IF a lab does the testing in Alberta or do they send it our of province. Then get your doc to write you a referral. It will cost you to get it. Ontario cost 140. Obviously depends what lab you use and what they charge out west.

you can get type specific herpes testing even in canada. Look up ottmar's journal post on it for more info to give to your provider.

it really sounds like you had something non-herpes going on.

thanks for the reply grace. i never got a return of symptoms and yes they did give me antibiotics for the problem at the time. my sereology test came back negative or low positive. we don't have herpes select to where im at in canada. i went to few doctors and they told me i shouldn't worry anymore unless i get symptoms. i looked at other pics of genital herpes and mine didnt come close to it. it felt like a bladder infection at the time as it was hurting quite a bit with the yellow discharge. swollen penile glands. i'm just really traumatized and yes i will move forward with my life. thank you so much..  if you want to add anything else please do.

if this was herpes, it was hsv1 genitally since the only exposure was oral sex. If your blood test comes back hsv1+, unless you can recall a history of cold sores, no way to know if it's hsv1 orally or genitally. At this point, nothing you can do unless you get a return of symptoms to get cultured which if it was hsv1 genitally, recurrences will be few and far between.   This sounds much more like a bacterial infection and I assume they had given you antibiotics at the time which cleared it up.  

It's time to start living your life again. Do what you need to do be it full std testing or whatever it takes to help you get back on track to having a fullfilling life that includes sexual contact. 8 years is way too long to be sitting home alone and if you need to, consult a professional to talk about all of this and start dealing with it.

i didnt have any irritation for the last 8 years, i was just worrying for the last 8 years. nothing ever happened after the doc gave me meds.

Not knowing what Herpes test you did I am going to make a few suggestions.  

First of all find out if your test was a IgG type specific test.  If not then anything that is not an IgG test is kind of worthless.  You really need to get the IgG test.  If that is what you have please post the results so we can take a look at whats going on.  If not have your doctor order an IgG type specific test.

Chances are you may have a fungal infection or you are irritating your penis.  Best thing to do is let a dermatologist look at it and see what is going on.  However, I would recommend the IgG blood test as well since you have so much time after last possible exposure.
