No, I haven't gotten the swab yet but I wanted to know if it would be accurate if I did. I went in a few days earlir and they refused to do it because I didn't have any fluid-filled blisters, they were more like red bumps.
Yes pcr is very accurate but 48 hours after the lesion appears is the timeline. A pcr is a culture. There is one version that is used with spinal fluids but thats not what they did, correct?
Is this PCR swab? Because I heard that it's a lot more accurate than a culture. Oh and thank you for the welcome!
Hi and welcome. 3 days max after the appearance and it has a high rate of false negatives. Its real value is showing if positive only.
