Pain & Burning sensation in Penis
Hi,
I had a following sexual encounter with a female Commercial sex worker on 21-Sep-12.
Encounter involved deep mouth kissing and unprotected oral , i was insertive partner.Then followed by protected vaginal intercourse.
Didnot have any sex after this episode.
I had taken Doxycyline 100 MG twice a day for 2 weeks from the next day.
Did not feel anything until last week.It started with a mild pain in my penis . I can feel the pain through out the day.The whole shaft of the penis pains ans sometimes its a occasional sharp pain.
The pain is there for close to 5 days now.Now the pain stays through out the day and I've also started feeling burning sensation throughout the day.It doesnt decrease or increase during urination.
there are no other symptoms like rashes , etc.
This is troubling me a lot and I'm really worried and fearing the worst.
Could this be any STD like Herpes.
What are the test that are recommended for diagnosis.

has your partner been tested for herpes to know her status?

really no reason to think this is hsv1 genitally causing your symptoms. continue to follow up with your urologist regularly as needed for your symptoms.

I got the bloodwork report, done post 3 months of the exposure.It was a Type specific ELISA HSV 1 & 2 IgG & IgM tests.
The results say HSV 1 - IgG POSITIVE , rest all NEGATIVE.
I still have the burning sensation pain in Penis tip throughout the day.It aggravates when I sit for long hours.I'm experiencing the pain for last 2.5 months.No other symptoms like blisters/lesions.
The Urologist I as referring to did not take this seriously and said it is not relevant and I need not worry and referred Me to a Skin Specialist.
He took Me through detailed analysis of My Genitals under Bright Light/Lens etc and said He couldn't find anything .
He did not recommend Me any medications.
I'm worried as I still have the symptoms and it all started after the episode 3.5 months ago.
I'm really in a fix on deciding on My marriage and sexual life.
I'm not sure if I'm given proper treatment.
1.Would I transmit this to My partner ?
2.What are the precautions I need to take .
3.Would there be any complications in Pregnancy / delivery with My partner ?
I'm seriously in a fix on how to take this forward.As I've gone to the best and leading hospital chain in My country.

this doesn't sound at all like herpes. be seen regularly for your symptoms for better answers.

It started like some dry skin on the penis shaft.after around a week i can see small white colour pimples in that area.It doesnt itch or pain but its multiple tiny spots and white in color.i still have burning sensation while urination and heavy sharp pain at the tip of the penis.sometimes i feel slight discomfort on the inner thighs.doctor has asked me to go for complete bloodwork 3 months post exposure.does these white patches a symptom of herpes .can this come 10 weeks post exposure and almost 8 weeks after the pain and burning started.

doesn't sound like a herpes symptom. you wouldn't have pain only with bowel movements with herpes - it would be constant.

Is it possible for HSV1 to cause only Pain & Burning sensation in Urination without any visible sores in genitals.

Also from last two days I've started getting heavy burning sensation in Anus during defecating in the morning.
I'm really worried as the doctor even after seeing the urine culture report has not recommended any treatment for the bacteria , but has asked me to repeat the HSV tests 3 months post exposure.As of now he has given Doxy 100 mg once a day .

most herpes infections only last 2-3 weeks initially even without treatment. they can last as long as 6 weeks but most folks don't have them that long. symptoms typically show up before 1 month post encounter too.

I can't help you much with the testing you had done since it's not one that is commonly used in the US. the testing you did have done isn't always very accurate though :(
klebsiella can be sexually transmitted.
nothing sounds like genital herpes going on. I'd stop worrying that it was.

I took a IgG and IgM HSV 1 & 2 ELISA blood test.IgM for both 1 & 2 came back negative.IgG for HSV 1 is positive with very very high value.the spec says above 20 is positive and my readings are 359 RU/mL .I'm not sure if I can trust the results.
Also I dinot get any blisters or pimples on face or genitals.Had 2 pimple kind of stuff on hands but they didnot break open and there was no pain.
I'm confused and scared .Please help.

it's unfortunate that they aren't even doing basic urine testing for you and not checking your prostate :( would've given better answers than nothing at this point.

I'm planning to travel this weekend to native and have a complete testing done.

I might loose the job if I don't clear the tests.

Is this herpes outbreak.

this doesn't sound at all like herpes going on. if you are having more pain now, go and be seen again for further evaluation.
